How Great Leaders CONTROL Ramifications?

Many individuals consider, merely, factors, such as whether a particular leader is popular during his tenure, and the organization, presently, seems to be functioning, strongly, well, and in an apparently - relevant, effective manner, when they evaluate how well, leaders are performing their duties, and responsibilities! After over four decades, of personal involvement, in nearly all aspects related to quality, effective leadership, from identifying and qualifying to, training, developing, and consulting to thousands of actual and potential leaders, as well as serving, personally, as a leader, several times, I believe, the only way, to rate the performance of someone, is, considering, not only, current issues, concerns, etc., but, also, how well, his strategies, actions, and planning bring his group, forward, in a meaningful manner. Truly - great leaders, therefore, must CONTROL ramifications, at - present, and into - the - future! With that in mind, this article will attempt to examine, review, and discuss, using the mnemonic approach, what this means and represents, and why it matters.

1. Character; create; clarify; coordinate/ cooperate: While many things needed to be an effective leader can be trained, it is an individual's quality of character, which, often, is far - more critical and relevant in determining how well he might lead! Great leaders must create circumstances that make a more influential group. They must consistently articulate a compelling, inspiring message, clarifying the strategic and action plan needed to make the organization more robust and better! How one coordinates others, and, whether, he brings - them, forth, to cooperate, rather than, proceed, in an adversarial manner, often, differentiates the most acceptable leader, from the rest - of - the - pack!

2. Options; opportunities: One must thoroughly consider, and examine all viable options and alternatives, to attempt to discover and take advantage of the finest available opportunities and create his opportunity!

3. Needs: The primary emphasis of the individual must be consistent, addressing the needs, goals, priorities, and perceptions of both actual and potential stakeholders to ensure a relevant, sustainable course of action!

4. Trends; timely; time - tested; trust: While there is, usually, no reason to try to reinvent - the - wheel, it is wise to review and understand current trends, and know, which ones might assist and strengthen the particular organization in a relevant, and sustainable manner! To do so, one must, never resort to procrastination, but, instead, proceed in a healthy - considered, timely ay, while taking advantage of skills, knowledge, and expertise, gathered, and learned, from, time - tested, techniques, etc! At every stage, a natural leader must understand that he must earn his constituents' trust, every day, in every way!

5. Realistic; reasoning/ reasons; responsible; responsive; relevant; ramifications: While a positive, can-do attitude is helpful and needed, one must proceed, without wearing, rose-colored glasses, in a realistic way! His reasoning must consider impacts, choices, and his reasons, and he must emphasize making his group the best it can be! He must be both responsible and responsive, and take, thoroughly, into consideration, as many relevant factors as - possible! One must understand, there are, often, potential ramifications of every action, as well as failing - to - act!

6. Organized; open-mind: An organized individual, who proceeds in an organized manner, needs an open - mind to thoroughly examine and consider options and alternatives, as well as potential ramifications, into the future!

7. Listen; learn; limit: Effective listening must lead to meaningful learning, which benefits, his organization, at - present, and in the future! He must use every effort to limit any potential dangers and ramifications regularly!

If you hope to be a quality, meaningful leader, you must consistently CONTROL potential ramifications! Are you up to the tasks and responsibilities?
