When Hangouts will be shutdown? in this year..

Back in February, Google switched Workspace users to the more modern "Google Chat" app in place of the older "Hangouts" tool. Later this year, the company plans to totally discontinue the older Hangouts and switch all current users to Google Chat. In a recent blog post, Google stated that users of Hangout's on desktop and mobile devices will be urged to switch to Google Chat before Hangout's is discontinued in November 2022. Users will have the opportunity to export all of their Hangout's data prior to the platform's discontinuation, and chat data from the Hangout's platform will automatically be available on Google Chat. Back in 2020, Google began its work for users to transition from Hangout's to chat  ''and'' it became official that Hangouts will die soon. The tech giant has now revealed that it will officially shut down Google Hangout's this year and urges people to switch to Google Chat. Here’s what you need to know.

The Death of Google Hangouts!

According to Google, users of Hangouts will soon begin receiving in-app notifications urging them to switch to Google chat, either within Gmail or the standalone Chat app. The chat web app or chat on the web will be recommended to users of the Hangouts Chrome extension. Users using Hangouts on Gmail will be automatically switched over to chat in July. Up until this fall, Hangouts on the web will function as usual. In November 2022, Google Hangouts will be discontinued, making it impossible for users to continue using the service. The business wants to make Google Chat even better, therefore it will soon add more features. This will allow for multiple image sharing and viewing, direct calling, and in-line threading in spaces. There will be more to come on this. So, keep an eye out for future developments of this nature. Google also underlined how chat is a "better way to collaborate" while making this announcement. The messaging app, which was previously restricted to Google Workspace users, will now allow users to edit Docs and Sheets, have access to spaces for topic-based collaboration, support for emoji, and much more. Google has finally made the decision to terminate its Hangout's platform after a successful run. This is because the business wants to move consumers to Google chat, which became publicly available in October 2020. Now that access to hang out's will expire in November of this year, users of the mobile app will start to notice notifications appearing and urging them to switch to chat. Google has invested significantly more time and money in chat than it has in Hangout's, and it has made a bigger effort to improve its Workspace offerings. This is the fundamental reason for the shift to chat. As a result, the business claims that it has more features and is constantly improving. Since all the Google Hangout's chats will be moved over to chat, the transition procedure will be straightforward. Before Hangout's closes down, users can use Google Takeout to obtain a copy if necessary. The Google Talk apps for PC and Android were discontinued between 2015 and 2017, effectively putting an end to the service. To interact with XMPP/Jabber clients like Pidgin and Ga jam, Google had previously set up connectors for Google Talk, and these have persisted throughout the past few years.
