How Flood in Delhi affects the education

Schools have received instructions to offer moral and emotional assistance to children who have lately been impacted by Delhi's floods.

Floods take many different shapes and are a physical manifestation of the tension between urban growth and weather-related vulnerabilities. Fluvial floods, flash floods, and glacial lake outburst floods are on the list, according to Van Niekerk and Nemakonde. The main floods that affect Sub-Saharan Africa are caused by periods of heavy rainfall brought on by tropical cyclones and storm surges. For instance, the South Indian cyclone from 2018 to 2019 caused a fluvial flood that caused exponentially greater flood damage in Africa. This was mostly brought on by Cyclone Idai, which devastated and killed people in Mozambique, Zimbabwe, and Malawi. When it comes to flash floods, they have a brief duration and are brought on by intense rainfall that quickly fills smaller basins.

As a result, even though there are occasional naturally occurring floods that natural systems could manage, our development of much of the world's landscape and our hedonistic lifestyles have contributed to both an increase in flood occurrences and the creation of floods themselves. Flood as a natural occurrence pertains to God's expression of wrath, and flood as a man-made event signifies man's failure to effectively plan for hazards and mitigate them to lessen their effects on infrastructure that supports livelihoods.

In New-Delhi,they are to permit pupils to attend class without textbooks and uniforms.

"Recently, the national capital has experienced severe flooding, and many families living on the banks of the yamuna have suffered greatly," the Directorate of Education (DOE) stated in a circular. In several homes, every piece of furniture swept away. Many kids have lost their belongings, including their clothing and books, in the floods. People have been seen to be quite upset over losing their belongings and documents.

What constitutes a natural disaster and what does not is a topic of continuous debate in academics. The topic of floods, which recently caught everyone off guard, is also discussed. Although literature recognizes floods as one of the most terrible disasters ever documented in human history worldwide, its impact on educational systems is rarely, if ever, acknowledged. While attempting to analyze how flooding affects African educational systems, this news also questions whether flooding belongs in the category of natural disasters. As a writer,I critically evaluate and question the effectiveness of state actions to stop flooding from impacting education systems.

Flooding has benefits for humans beyond only improving the soil for agriculture. To the degree that many nations rely on aquifers for fresh water, flood water absorbed underground recharges the subsurface aquifers to deliver fresh water to rivers, wells, dams, and lakes from flood water. That supply of fresh water is sourced in alternate years by floods. Flood water, which carries and deposits nutrients-rich sediments that support both the plant and animal life of wetlands, is another source of support for ecosystems. In this approach, flooding becomes a draw factor that encourages groups to settle in flood-prone locations and tolerate the high risks because of the benefits they receive economically from doing so.
