How expectation meets Struggle ;The Middle Class Engineer

Imagine a bustling city where life never slows down, and in the midst of this lively chaos, lived a young woman named Maya. Her life story was like a painting, filled with dreams, colors, and big hopes. She was a regular person, not too rich, not too poor, and her job was being a civil engineer. Education had given her a powerful weapon to chase her dreams, and she believed her future could be brighter. But as life often does, it had its own script for Maya.

Picture Maya in her graduation cap, full of hope and promise. She got a job through her college, believing it would lead her to success. But life had different plans. Just after a month on the job, Maya felt like she was wearing someone else's shoes. It wasn't her fit. She realized this wasn't the path she wanted to follow. With a heavy heart, she chose to leave the job and return to her hometown.

Maya's heart, though, beat for government exams. She wanted these exams to open doors to the life she dreamed of. She found a part-time teaching job that paid very little, but even this slipped through her fingers. The school wanted her to do things that didn't feel right, and she couldn't agree. So, she left.

She thought Hyderabad could hold the answers. There, she wanted to earn special certificates that could help her in the civil sector. But these certificates turned out to be just paper, not the keys to success she hoped for. She was like a sailor facing storms, and her dreams were the distant shore. Her hometown welcomed her back, but it came with sickness that wouldn't leave. It was as if her struggles were a part of her identity.

Still, Maya fought on. She faced government exams with determination, faced disappointments, and even had surgery. But failure seemed to haunt her every move. Interviews came and went, leaving her dreams just out of reach.

During these challenges, her best friend called with a solution – a business investment that could solve all her problems. Her friend's promises sounded like music to Maya's ears. Torn between her parents' advice and her friend's optimism, she chose the latter. But this path led to a dead end. The business was like a mirage, a cruel trick. She lost money and trust, left with debts that reminded her of her own vulnerability.

Yet, Maya was a fighter. She took on long hours of work, with her parents as her backbone. She saved every bit, carving a path through the obstacles. Even though she got an award at work, her happiness was fleeting. The pandemic snatched her aunt away, leaving Maya to grapple with grief, work pressure, and a feeling of emptiness. Her struggles with anger, sadness, and loneliness only grew.

Maya's work, demanding and unappreciative, added to her struggles. Her best efforts didn't reflect in her appraisals. A job offer in Mumbai seemed like a lifeline, but her heart spoke louder, urging her to honor her own dreams.

So, Maya left her job and took her future into her own hands. She turned to learning new skills, seeking a fresh start in IT. Articles, courses, and interviews filled her days, but success felt elusive.

In search of hope, Maya joined a program that promised a job after she completed a course. She borrowed money, hoping this would be her breakthrough. But like a cruel déjà vu, the program left her empty-handed. Yet, her spirit refused to break.

Imagine Maya's story as a lighthouse of hope. It reminds us that not every smile hides happiness, and that life's journey is a mix of challenges and triumphs. Maya's courage stands tall, teaching us that even in darkness, hope can guide us.
