How effects of emotion on memory

Emotion and memory are two different concepts, but they are closely related. We often do not pay attention to the consequences of certain emotions that we experience and the resulting internal events in our minds.

Emotions are reactions that human beings experience in response to situations that can be good, bad or neutral. These situations also have an impact on our body and more specifically on our memory.

Human memory refers to the part of the mind that acquires, stores, stores and retrieves information. When someone is in a good mood, their memory flourishes and is retained for a long time. On the other hand, a bad or sad mood leads to the possibility of poor retention.

There are six basic emotions that are universal: fear, disgust, anger, surprise, happiness and sadness. However, these emotions greatly affect a person's memory and some of the effects are discussed below:

Effects of fear

Usually, fear occurs when a person encounters something hideous or frightening, or it can be a reaction to someone's threats. So what happens when someone experiences fear? Blood pressure and heart rate will increase; breathing speeds up, which triggers the mind and impairs the formation of long-term memories and even causes damage to certain parts of the brain, such as the hippocampus, a complex brain structure that plays a major role in learning and memory.

Effects of Anger

Anger is a natural emotion that everyone experiences from time to time. It is a reaction to something that irritates or frustrates us.

In anger, a person's facial expression turns sullen and he/she may start behaving harshly. At that moment, the individual does not feel what is happening internally, but there are various risks such as heart risk, weak immune system, shortening life span and above all it has a great impact on memory.

A new study finds that anger increases a person's vulnerability to misinformation, and also says that anger makes people more prone to different types of memory errors -- misremembering or completely losing information in the memory system for a particular detail or event.

The effects of luck

Happiness is an emotion of joy, satisfaction, contentment and fulfillment. Psychologists and scientists consider this term subjective well-being, it refers to how people experience and evaluate various aspects of their lives.

When someone experiences happiness, the body releases certain chemicals that help you feel pleasure. This in turn has various effects such as boosting the immune system, fighting stress and pain, increasing life span and more importantly acting as a fertilizer for the brain and improving memory. Studies show that individuals who are in a state of happiness are more likely to remember information presented to them and have a better ability to learn.

Effects of grief

Sadness is a negative emotion that can threaten our health. When a person is sad, they go through confusion, which is a reaction to situations that are painful, distressing and disappointing. Grief makes a person dull and weak. In addition, negative feelings result in the release of harmonies that negatively affect our body.

The effects of grief include forgetfulness and confusion, making it difficult for individuals to focus on tasks and think clearly. In addition, it can lead to poor memory and is also associated with short-term memory loss in certain cases.

In short, every emotion has an effect on our health and thus has a significant impact on our life. A person may or may not be in control of their emotions, but it is better to always opt for positive emotions and not give space to negative ones. When you feel good, you release positive vibes, connect with the people around you, and build a strong community.
