Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan will announce National Institutional Ranking Framework or NIRF rankings 2022 on July 15 at 11 am.

Depending on their areas of operation, institutes will be ranked under 11 different categories – overall, university, colleges, engineering, management, pharmacy, law, medical, architecture, dental and research.
Several parameters including resources, research, and stakeholder perception and 5 major parameters – Teaching, Learning and Resources, Research and Professional Practice, Graduation Outcomes, Outreach and Inclusivity and Peer Perception are considered for ranking institutions.
Last year IIT-Madras was ranked the top institute in the overall educational institutes category and also the top engineering institute. IISc Bangalore was ranked second in the overall category.
NIRF India Ranking 2022 Today Updates: IIT Madras remains the best institute in the country, IISc Bengaluru has topped the university category while University of Delhi's Miranda House has been ranked first in the college category. In the overall category, however, it is just behind IIT Madras, ranking second. Under the law category, National Law School of India University topped the chart, ahead of National Law University, New Delhi and Symbiosis Law School Pune.
Under the management category, Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Bengaluru ranked second, falling behind IIM Ahmedabad, while National Institute of Technology (NIT) Surathkal ranked 10th in the engineering category.Meanwhile, JSS College of Pharmacy, Mysore and Manipal College of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Manipal registered the eighth and ninth rank under the pharmacy category. Manipal College of Dental Sciences also registered the second rank under the dental category, just after Saveetha Institute of Medical and Technical Sciences.
The Ministry of Education on Friday announced the seventh edition of India Rankings of institutions of higher education in four categories, namely — Overall, Colleges, Universities and Research Institutions and seven subject domains, namely Engineering, Management, Pharmacy, Law, Medical, Architecture and Dental. The rankings were based on different parameters in different disciplines. Some of the parameters include research and professional practice, graduation outcomes, outreach and inclusivity, peer perception among others.SOA, a deemed to be university, has improved its ranking from 38th in 2020 and 37th rank last year to 30th rank this year in overall category. Similarly, Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology (KIIT), a deemed to be university, has also improved its ranking from 44th in 2020 and 39th rank in 2021 to 34th this year in the overall category among top 100 institutions across the country.
The National Institute of Technology (NIT) Rourkela, which had received overall 41st rank last year against 32 rank in 2020, secured 39th rank this year. But the IIT Bhubaneswar could not improve the ranks of its previous years. This year it got 65th against 58th overall rank last year, 56th in 2020 and 46th in 2019
