🏗️ Record investment in infrastructure development, relief for the middle class
Special Correspondent, New Delhi:
Amidst the prolonged economic slowdown and global price inflation, the central government has announced unprecedented investment in infrastructure development to maintain stability in the Indian market. Basically, this decision to pour huge money into the national highways, railways and logistics sectors has created new hope among economic experts.
On Thursday, the Union Finance Ministry announced that ₹3 lakh crore has been allocated for modernizing the country's communication system in the next one year. This investment will mainly focus on building roads in rural areas and high-speed freight corridors.
Why the emphasis on infrastructure?
Experts believe that the main goals of this investment are two: increasing employment and controlling inflation.
Economist Dr. Anirban Basu said in this context, "When the country's infrastructure is strong, the cost of transporting goods decreases. When transportation costs decrease, the prices of daily necessities in the market are naturally under control. The middle-class and lower-class families of the country will directly benefit from this."
In addition, large construction projects will immediately create job opportunities for a large number of workers, which will help boost the rural economy.
Impact on real estate and banking sectors 🏢
Due to the impact of this government move, the prices of real estate and construction sector shares have increased in the stock market. Market analysts believe that the emphasis on the infrastructure sector will increase the demand for loans in banks, which can also benefit the banking sector.
However, some experts have warned that it is important to ensure the transparency of this huge investment and the speedy implementation of the project. If the projects are not completed within the stipulated time, the risk of inflation may increase again.
Aspirations of the common man
Ramesh Shukla, a small businessman in the capital Delhi, said, "With good roads and improved rail connectivity, our products can be sent from one place to another easily and at a low cost. This will increase profits and buyers will also be able to buy products at a lower price. We welcome this initiative of the government."
However, the main concern of the common man is still the price of daily necessities. Although the government is emphasizing on infrastructure development, they have demanded that more effective steps be taken quickly to control the price of food items.
Overall, this big initiative of the government in the infrastructure sector has brought a positive message for the country's economy, but strict monitoring and timely completion of projects are very important to reap its benefits.
