Yoga is the best way to get a pause for your daily stress and problems. This is something to grasp. Yoga is a science and not a vague, dreamlike drift or daydream. While it is true that the West has been familiar with the practice of yoga for a relatively short time, yoga is not a new discipline and has been studied and practiced in many countries over the past century. Yoga is an applied science, a systematic set of laws applied to bring about a definitive end. It considers the laws of psychology applicable to the unfolding of all human consciousness at all levels, in all worlds, and applies them rationally in a given situation. This rational application of the laws of unfolding consciousness operates on exactly the same principles as those you see applied around you every day in other parts of science. Yoga uses many of the techniques used in the more modern and recently developed disciplines of psychological and even medial physical exercise. As you get older, you learn by looking at the world around you how greatly human intelligence can speed up "natural" processes by collaborating with nature, and that the workings of intelligence are as "natural" as anything else. The yoga path not only incorporates this sense of "cosmos" but also works below the surface to strengthen one's oneness with the universe. We make this distinction, and in practice it is a real distinction between "rational" and "natural" growth, for human intelligence can guide the operation of the laws of nature; and when we became interested in Yoga, when it applied the laws of natural selection to reproduction, let's say we're in the same department of applied science as the scientific farmer or gardener. The farmer or gardener cannot transgress the laws of nature and cannot work against them. There are no other laws of nature to work except the universal laws by which nature evolves the surrounding forms, and yet nature does what it is supposed to do in a few years, perhaps hundreds or thousands of years. This can be done by applying human intelligence to choose laws that serve it and to override laws that have a negative effect on the farmer's purpose. The farmer brings the divine intelligence in man to use the divine forces in nature that work for general purposes rather than specific ones. Yoga is something that can make a real change in people's lives, we've seen it many times, from the physical practice of yoga to the philosophical results, through the knowledge of the science of yoga, everything that is yoga is united in a greater, complete way. It is discipline that is beneficial to humanity. For some, calling it yoga is a way of letting it pass as an acceptable means of physical development, for others it seems to contradict the spiritual nature of yoga, the different facets of yoga, because its different uses sometimes create an illusion.
