HOW DOES THE HUMAN LIFE SUFFER DUE TO DISASTERS AND PANDEMICS?

1. INTRODUCTION

                              Earth is the only planet in the solar system of the universe in which life exists due to the availability of land, air, and water. Various kinds of vegetation have given the earth its unique glimpse of nature. But due to some human actions and natural actions, sometimes the peaceful life of human beings is devastated, and many things are destroyed in a second. In this article, we will discuss nature's disasters and pandemics in the past and how they have affected human life.

 

 2. EFFECT OF NATURAL DISASTERS

                                             Natural disasters are caused due to the natural elements on the earth such as land, water, air, and soil. They originate due to human action against nature like deforestation, industrialization, and more enhancement in the vehicleandequipments use.Examples are flood,cyclones,earthquakes,landslides,Tsunami etc.There are many instances like the Tsunami of 2004, the Bhuj(Gujarat) earthquake, and many more which caused huge loss of life and property in Southeast Asia in the past. Floods and cyclones have become a habitual action annually in some areas like Mumbai and the eastern side.

 

3. EFFECT OF MAN-MADE DISASTERS

                                               Unnatural disasters have had a significant impact on our lives in the past, where human actions are responsible for these happenings. There have been many instances like the nuclear bomb attacks on Hiroshima and Nagasaki during the second world war(1945), the two cities of Japan where the effect is so high that the newborn child is not fit in the environment to survive. Another example of a nuclear incident disaster is the Chernobyl disaster in Ukraine(1984), one of the deadliest disasters on this planet. In India, the famous Bhopal gas tragedy took place in 1984, where the methyl isocyanide gas caused great havoc and loss of life and property. 

 

4. IMPACT OF VARIOUS PANDEMICS FROM THE PAST TILL NOW

 It is generally said that nature heals itself after a normal 100 years cycle, and various pandemics have proved it right. From the past, different pandemics have changed ours, and it took a lot of time to curb and eliminate from the world. For example, pandemics like the Bubonic plague, Spanish flu, and SARS were infectious diseases that spread among the masses and caused many deaths. The newest is the list is the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic which originated in China and is still not curbed entirely. It has enhanced the online work on this globe, and social distancing has become a norm.

 

5. OUR  EFFORTS TO PREVENT THE DISASTERS AND PANDEMICS

  • First of all, we should realize that anything is not permanent in this world; anything can happen, so we should respect nature and take care of its well-being.
  • Growing more and more trees around the house or any space can help to increase the oxygen level and the purification of the air.
  • The use of eco-friendly items like bicycles on the road can help in health aspects and the environment.
  • Soil care and its vegetation should be maintained.
