How does the digestion process occur in human beings?
The process of digestion occurs through the digestive system. Before starting the process of digestion, We should know the meaning of the digestive system.
> Digestive system; The system involves the organs and glands which play its role in the process of digestion, known as the digestive system. So, now let's begin the process of digestion ;
1. Ingestion:
When we take the food into the mouth, this is called ingestion. So, We can say that the process of taking food in the mouth is called ingestion. The ingestion is also known as "MEDICATION."
2. Digestion:
Digestion means "to break down." So it is clear from the above that digestion is the process through which complex and insoluble food is broken down into simple and soluble molecules. Now, We are going to understand the organs and glands associate with this. The process of this occurs when we put the food in our mouth. When we put the food in our mouth, then the organs of our buccal cavity (mouth, tongue, saliva) play their role in it. The teeth help in cutting, grinding, breaking, and tearing. So, teeth help in physical digestion. Now, saliva, secreted by the salivary gland, has enzymes called salivary amylase, which digest the starch present in food into the sugar. So, it helps in chemical digestion. Since the salivary secreted by the gland makes the food wet which can be easily swallowed by our body. Here the food has not completely digested. Now it's a move to the stomach by the esophagus (food pipe). The food pipe generally contracts and relaxes on receiving food. The contraction and relaxation of the food pipe are known as a peristaltic movement. So, the peristaltic movement forced out the food coming from the mouth to the stomach. Now, the Stomach (pronounced as 'stake) is j-shaped. It is present at the left side of the abdomen churned the food for about three hrs to form semi_solid paste. The wall of the stomach has three tubular gases ( HCL, pepsin, and mucus ). HCL is hydrochloric acid that makes the gastric juices acidic. Due to the presence of hydrochloric acid,
the pepsin breaks down the protein into a simpler substance. Mucus help in protecting the stomach wall by its own secretion of hydrochloric acid. If the mucus is not secreted, the main hydrochloric began to erode the atomic wall, leading to ulcers. After the partial breakfast of the food, it goes to the small intestine and muscles, which regulate its exit called sphincter muscles. The small intestine is the largest part of the alimentary canal, a 6.5-meter long tube, but due to the coiled-shaped and narrow cross-section area, it is known as the small intestine. It is the site where the complete digestion of food takes place. The small intestine receives enzymes from the two glands - the liver and pancreas. It receives bile juice which is greenish-yellow in color, from the liver. This bile juice help emulsify the fats and make the acidic food alkaline. Now Pancreas, which is situated beneath the stomach, secretes pancreatic juices that contain enzymes such as pancreatic amylase, trypsin, and lipase .. Amylase digest the starch. Trypsin digest the protein, and lipase digest the fats. The intestine wall contains intestine juices which make the complete digestion of carbohydrates into glucose, protein into amino acid, and fats into fatty acid and glycerol.

3.Absorption:
After the digestion of food, the food became so small, and it passes into our blood through villi which is tiny, fingers like projection. Generally, villi increase surface area for digestion. So we can say that absorption is the process through which the digested food goes into the bloodstream...
4.Assimilation:
After the food goes into the bloodstream, it is used up by the cells for the daily life process and building the body. So we can say that the thing absorbed food that is used by the cells for different metabolic works is called Assimilation.
5.Excretion:
When the assimilated food is used up by the cells, the waste products are generally carbon dioxide, Water waste, and urea. Carbon dioxide and water, which is gaseous waste remove by the lungs through the process of breathing. And urea is solid waste removed by the anus as it is toxic and harmful to the body...
