HOW DOES IT FEEL WHEN YOU ARE LONELY?

There is a famous quote by the legendary Greek philosopher Aristotle : "Man is by nature a social animal.....". This quote reflects upon the very truth of the universe that we as a social element need the company of others. We cannot live alone. Loneliness has always been associated with anxiety and depression. It is quite often said that a lonely person is more prone to risk related to physical and mental conditions.

Is it really true ?

However, I shall convey a twist here. I would like to emphasize upon the fact that being alone is surely not always bad.

The constant awareness and alertness that I have to maintain when someone is with me is no longer there. I have altogether a different level of ease when I am alone.

Make your passion your companion

Being an ardent fan of writing. It allows me to concentrate and research upon a lot of ideas to write about. My brain takes me to a whole different world. It increases my imagination power. Sitting at home alone, I travel through various thoughts in my mind. I can go back to my childhood and suddenly return to the present. I can imagine my likes-dislikes. I can begin to plan about my future and the possibilities that life has for me.

Real life example

I would now share an instance of my life of a day when I was alone. All the members of my family had gone out for an invitation. I didn't feel like going out that day and insisted upon staying home by myself. Although they insisted that I go with them but after my constant refusal they agreed upon me staying back home. After they went I went to my room and turned on my music system which sat on the table. Days after keeping the music system as a "decorative piece', I switched it on and it was as if it came back to life. I can't play the music system much because of the sheer thought of someone at home getting disturbed by it. But that day I felt like a free bird in the sky. I didn't have to think about what other people would say or think and could do what my heart wished for. Me, an "introvert dancer'' grabbed my dancing shoes without fear of getting noticed. By the term 'introvert dancer' I mean to say that I actually love dancing but I have a phobia of showing my skills openly before people because of the fear that if anybody comments negatively about it, I may lose my mind for my most loved passion which is dancing. So, I refrain from getting judged. Although, sometimes a thought comes in my mind regarding opening about my dance to the world. But the thought of losing confidence creeps my mind severely. After merrily dancing on three-four chartbusters, my body demanded something refreshing to calm it down. I then put on my investigation skills to find the perfect relish and opened  my refrigerator to grab a can of my favourite juice. I gulped the whole can and laid on the sofa like a queen. The scenano felt like this is what life meant to be, simple, enjoyable and living like there is no tomorrow. After a nap, I opened my eyes and took a glance at the clock and my stomach started signalling me that it's time to make it happy by serving some delicacies. I navigated my way towards the kitchen and turned into an experimental food scientist having a relief that I will taste my own food good or bad.

In this way, I spent a whole day merrily all by myself without the slightest bit of getting bored or lonely.

My overall view on this topic

It is not important whether you are alone or having a bundle of people. What is important is to do what you love (without detrimental to anybody's well being) and to live life fully.
