About 88-91% hair grows on our scalp at a time, and they grow at the rate of 1 cm. per month. Normally the hair lasts for two to four years in males and four to six years in females. Internal Structure of Hair Deep inside the hair follicle, hair forms inside a bulb, and grows out and out.

Any method of hair improvement such as shampooing, conditioning, cutting, sun exposure does not affect the rate of hair growth.

There are 3 phases of hair growth -

Anagen which takes about 1000 days or 3 years.

 Catagen lasts for 10 days.

Tologen for about 3 months.

Anagen includes the beginning of hair growth and tologen is the end i.e. the hair loss phase. The hair bulb keeps coming out from the beginning till the stage of loss.

Hair growth is affected by seasonal changes, i.e. hair grows more rapidly in winter than in summer as a result of seasonal changes. In the catagen phase, hair growth stops for a short time and no pigment is produced during this time.

The timing of the anagen phase is usually fixed and genetically determined and is also responsible for the length of the hair. No. The number of hair follicles in the human head is approximately 100,000. Each follicle produces hair about 20 times in a lifetime. In a newborn baby, hair follicles grow at the same time, that is, all at the same time but as time passes, the follicles produce hair at different times.

If a hair is cut from the head, the follicle does not break, but it starts producing a new hair. As the age progresses, in most people, the hair follicles are clearly seen in the upper part of the head and also in the forehead. The hair does not grow in a certain straight way, but erects the follicle at a certain angle. Based on this angle, the hair is always ready to lie down. The stream is usually twisted but then it is influenced by the way people comb their hair.

Lastly, hair grows at a slow rate, so it requires utmost care to prevent it from falling out.
