But if it is said that a date is a dry potato fever, then it cannot be true. Because dates can never become dry potato fever. But if this thing is told again and again, then it is possible that people will start understanding it as truth.
The same was repeated again later with those who had participated in the S experiment. But this time he was shown some new things. Some things were the same which had been shown before. The interesting thing was that these participants believed the things that they had been shown before, regardless of whether they were true or not.
They were able to do this probably because they had seen those things before. That's why they thought it was true. Therefore, this experiment done in the laboratory proves that if a lie is told repeatedly, it becomes truth.
If we look around us, everyone from the makers of advertisements to the politicians take advantage of this weakness of human beings. He says the same thing so many times that people take it for granted.
Even if this experiment done in the laboratory is to be trusted, then why does a person need to make so much effort to convince him? Why does he have to adopt different methods to get his point across?
To find out how our illusion of truth works with our prior knowledge, Professor Lisa Fazio of Vanderbilt University and her team recently conducted a test. For this work, he resorted to some true and some false statements.
All these statements were divided into different parts according to the participants, such as the Pacific Ocean is the largest ocean in the world. This is something that everyone believes to be true. The statement that the Atlantic Ocean is the largest ocean in the world is a false statement. But maybe people will accept this as truth.
The results of this test show that even our prior knowledge is of no use in front of lies. The illusion of truth dominates even that.
But Lisa does not agree with this. He says that if it is accepted as true that by telling a lie repeatedly it becomes truth, then it puts a question mark on the logical ability of a human being.
Repeated repetition of something cannot prevail over the truth. It has been found in some experiments that people stick to what was true. The same thing was repeated many times in front of him.
Lies cannot affect our solid information. There is scope for a lie to turn into truth only when there is a loophole in the information, or the self-confidence is weak.
If the repetition of something is so powerful that it can affect our ability to think and understand, then it can become difficult for us. We have to strengthen our reasoning power.
But we also have to keep in mind that we have very little to do with it. Our mind is a victim of illusion of truth. Our mind wants to reach a conclusion as soon as possible, so if the mind thinks that it is possible, it takes a decision on its basis. He does not use his logical power too much.
Sometimes our guesses prove to be correct, but sometimes they also mislead us. That's why the researchers are emphasizing that if something is said, strong arguments should also be given in its favor so that the truth of the claims can be ascertained.
No claim should be believed by the people because it is being said again and again. Rather he should have a solid argument.
We live in a world where truth is supreme and it should be. Without making any distinction between truth and falsehood, if something is repeated again and again just to get one's point of view, then it is not right for humanity.
