It is straightforward to check the SMPS problem. You can check with a piece of power code ( wire) or with a multimeter. Use whichever is available to you following two steps.

Unplug SMPS or PSU. Disconnect all PSU leads to motherboard and drives. Leave at least one fan directly connected to a 4-pin Molex connector of PSU.

On the 20 or 20+4 pin main ATX power connector, short the pin with GREEN wire (PS-ON) to any adjacent pin with BLACK wire. This process makes the power supply turn ON once plugged into the AC main.

 

Plug the power supply into the AC main. PSU fan and connected fan should rotate. You can now test with a multimeter. Here are the voltages:

YELLOW wire= +12VDC

 

RED wire= +5VDC

ORANGE= +3.3VDC

Voltage readings must be within +/-5% of the above values.

 

2)Stage 1 – Unplug Power Connections. 

The initial step is to turn off all the force associated with the PC and ensure your PC is wound down totally. 

Stage 2 – Open Computer Case. 

Open your PC case by eliminating some of the screws at the left half of the PC case. You'll have to eliminate just one side of the case: 

 

Stage 3 – Unplug PSU Connection. 

Turn off all the association from the PSU (SMPS) to all inner equipment gadgets. The greater part of associations contains cut connections, so ensure you lose the clasp before eliminating any association. 

Ensure your SMPS/PSU isn't associated with a single thing from inside:

4-6 Pin Power Connector From Graphic Card (If Attached). 

 

Stage 4–Make A Shorting Wire.

Stage 5 – Test The SMPS.
