Distance education is a major step forward in making education more accessible to the millions of Americans who would not otherwise have the time or resources to obtain a college degree or technical degree. It allows people from all over the country, even in remote or rural areas to connect technology that makes them learn, at their own pace and in their own time.
But distance learning is not for everyone and some people need a real classroom environment and a real teacher to learn. That is because our standard education model includes three key components that appear to be effective in helping to teach a larger number of people. Those parts are the teacher's speech and explanation, the student's taking notes based on the teacher's presentation, and the peer-to-peer communication between students.
None of these features exist in remote learning and as a result it becomes an external way for students, adults or juniors, to acquire and process information in order to learn.
To succeed in learning a grade we must find a way to overcome the fact that these traditional objects are not present in our online education. Some people can do that and others cannot.
Other barriers to learning are self-motivation and the ability to do all the work you need to do in order to succeed. If you are not able to read or complete tasks without the constant monitoring and displacement of a teacher then distance learning may not be yours. Similarly, if you do not have the discipline to participate in all online events and protect your time and space from distractions and distractions you will find it very difficult to get through the grade learning process.
Distance education may not be yours if you already have a busy life that includes a lot of time and responsibilities. You can try and learn as you watch your kids at the pool, but sooner or later one of your kids will accidentally pull you out or design a cut you off from your lessons. You could try and make a distance learning program while working 60 hours in the office, but eventually something will give you, and that may be your homework.
