HOW DID EINSTEIN RESHAPE OUR WORLDVIEW?
ALBERT EINSTEIN was born in Ulm, Germany, in 1875. He studied at the Zurich Polytechnic Institute and was working as a patent examiner in Bern. His articles on special relativity were published in the German Journal Annalen der Physik. The work had its origins in a thought experiment he conducted at age 16 when he was riding on a beam of light and confused about how, even though the speed of light is a constant, a parallel beam seemed stationary.
His special and general relativity theories united matter with energy and space with time and help redefine how gravity works. And they also helped usher in the age of atomic energy and weapons.
BUT HOW DID EINSTEIN RESHAPE OUR WORLDVIEW?
By the early 19th century, scientists have already established that the speed of light was a constant, Which challenged the classical theory that velocity is addictive: A swimmer moving at one mile an hour in a two-mile-an-hour current travels three miles an hour.
Albert Einstein developed equations showing space and time, the other variables involved in velocity, change as objects approach the speed of light; astronomical observations eventually confirmed this, as dis experiments on airplanes showed time do slowly as speed increases.
Einstein's special and general theories of relativity unified the three dimensions of space with the fourth dimension of time; explained the interchangeability of mass and energy through the well-known equation E=mc² and recast gravity as a force by blending space. The effect is relevant only across massive distances and at high speeds, but understanding it helped unlock some powerful forces, such as nuclear energy.
But how exactly did Einstein Influence the Modern world?
The greatest genius has spent his life studying Maths, physics, and Quantum mechanics, all for developing the Theory of relativity. Einstein thought that classical mechanics' laws could no longer adapt with those of the electromagnetic field that made him develop his special theory of relativity. This made him publish the paper General theory of Relativity. However, statistical mechanics and quantum theory problems never allowed him to close his eyes, even for a quick nap.
Coming to the topic of how this Genius had made the modern world to its current shape. His contribution to the modern world cannot be cumulated in a single article. But I have tried my best to bring some of his ideas that helped to shape the modern world.
- Einstein denied Newtonian mechanics in their relation to the understanding of electromagnetism, specifically to Maxwell's equations, and so he proposed a paper in September 1905 named Einstein's special theory of relativity.
- Einstein's theory of light is also one such thing that changed the study of light to a newer perspective in the modern world after he taught the world that all light is composed of tiny packets of energy, called photons.
- The existence of atoms that was proved through Avogadro Number by Perrin using a high precision microscope is one such that could not have been accomplished because it was happened to verify Einstein's work on Brownian motion suggested the existence of tiny indistinguishable particles.
