Various Indian Dance Styles
India has a rich history of dance. There is a wealth of information known about dancing, spanning from the second century BCE to the twenty-first century CE. For instance, we have a damaged Harappan body in a dancing position and a bronze "dancing girl" figurine from Mohenjo-Daro. Dancing has a long history that spans the classical, medieval, and modern eras.
Indian dance styles can be broadly divided into two groups: folk and classical. Modern versions of traditional Indian dances are presented on stage at different times. Bharatanatyam, Odissi, Kuchipudi, Manipuri, Kathak, Sattriya, Kathakali, Mohiniyattam, and other classical dance genres are among them. In contrast, folk dance styles including Kathi, Nakata, Ghumara, Lavani, and Bhangra, Lezim, Savari, Painka, Chhau, Munari, Koli, Gadhwali, etc.

Modern dances have been put onto Indian dance in Hindi film. Classical Indian dance forms served as the main inspiration for dancing in early Hindi films. Indian and Western dance forms are frequently combined in contemporary movies. It could be a fusion of jazz, hip hop, belly dance, Indian folk dance, Indian classical, and even folk styles.
