For almost four years, there has been fierce rivalry in the unified communications and collaboration (UC&C) space. For this reason, Cisco Systems has been "fundamentally reimagining" methods to reduce friction in collaboration, independent of users' physical locations. Focus is what will set the IT giant apart from competitors like Zoom Video Communications, which, in the words of Cisco Executive Vice President and General Manager of Security and Collaboration Jeetu Patel, has become a "verb status" among many end customers.

According to Patel, one of Webex's main issues that the business will keep addressing in 2024 is end user perception. The business intends to do that by pursuing ongoing product innovation in"I believe there is only one scalable marketing engine that consistently performs well when you have to build a product for hundreds of millions of people, given that you're competing with verb status by others." That's word-of-mouth marketing, Patel explained. Your customers will genuinely tell their friends and family about your product because they genuinely adore it and feel obliged to talk about it.

Patel discussed the "flywheel effect" that end users experience with Webex at Cisco's WebexOne 2023 event, which took place at the end of last year. This is because the platform leverages Cisco's networking, security, AI, and observability technology in addition to the company's expertise in collaboration .

Specifically,  By the end of 2023, the tech behemoth introduced a slew of new Webex devices, features, and enhancements. New Real-Time Media Models (RMM) that could recognize both visual and auditory cues, including gestures or someone leaving the room during a conference, were part of that. The AI-based RMMs' task  improve audio and video quality by utilizing object identification as context and these activities.
