India has landed on the moon as the landing module of ISRO's third lunar mission, Chandrayaan-3, successfully touched down! It was also the first country to land near the moon's.
The lander module (LM) of Chandrayaan-3, the third lunar exploration mission of the Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO), was launched on July 14 and successfully landed on the lunar surface on August 23. India is the fourth country after the former Soviet Union. The United States and China conduct a soft landing on the surface of the moon. Congratulating ISRO's team of scientists, said, "India's successful lunar mission was not India's alone...our approach to one planet, one family, one future resonates around the world...moon landing The mission is based on one human being - a center-centered approach." So this success belongs to all of humanity.
Exactly 6:03 p.m. The lander touched down on the lunar surface and there was great celebration at the Mission Operations Center (MOX) of the ISRO Telemetry, Tracking and Command Network in Bengaluru. The lander then successfully deployed the rover, which will conduct in situ chemical analysis of the lunar surface as it moves. The mission duration of the lander and rover is one lunar day (14 Earth days), carrying scientific payloads to conduct experiments on the lunar surface.
'This is the new India; his arms stretch from Mars to the moon': the name of Rajnath Singh
Defense Minister Rajnath Singh congratulated the ISRO team after Chandrayaan-3 successfully landed on the lunar surface and India became the first country to land near the lunar south pole.
"I want to congratulate the ISRO team and all Indians for the successful landing of the name Chandrayaan 3. Congratulations to your country for being Chandramauli. This is New India with arms extending from Mars to the Moon," Singh told ANI.
He further stated that ISRO scientists have told the world that the name of"Mama Chanda" is not far away from us.
India has written a golden chapter in the history of space exploration with the landing lander on the south pole of the Moon," he added.
This Noida-based tech startup powers the eyes of the lunar rover
As the Prajan rover prepares to sail on the moon, its eyes will be powered by software developed by a tech startup in Noida to traverse the crater-filled lunar surface.
Omnipresent Robot Technologies worked closely with ISRO on the Chandrayaan lunar mission series to develop perception and navigation software for the Pragyaan rover aboard the Vikram lander that landed on the moon Wednesday night.
"We are very excited and look forward to seeing the Pragyaan rover navigate the lunar surface using our software," Aakash Sinha, CEO of Omnipresent Robot Technologies, told PTI.
The families of two ISRO scientists from Assam were ‘over the moon’ over the successful soft-landing of Chandrayaan-3 rover on the lunar surface.
The anxious family members of scientists Nidhi Sharma and Chayan Dutta of Tinsukia and Lakhimpur towns respectively cried tears of joy as the touchdown happened.
Both Sharma and Dutta were members of Chandrayaan 2 and 3 missions and were involved in the Landing Control Centre of the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) at Sriharikota.
‘’Baba, we did it’‘ were the first words from Nidhi Sharma when she called up her father-in-law Deepak Dev and spoke to him for less than a minute.
