Alright, this is me in the kitchen, rolling up my sleeves, putting on my “don’t talk to me, I’m cooking” face, and attempting Texas-level greatness.
🛒 Stuff I Grabbbed (Very Confidently)
3 tablespoons of Worcestershire sauce (say it quickly to sound formal) 1 tablespoon of chilli powder (because Texas will judge me differently) Two minced (or vigorously crushed by me) garlic cloves 1 tsp celery salt
1 tsp pepper
1 teaspoon liquid smoke (optional, but I added it to give the impression of smoke without fire) One enormous beef brisket (roughly 6 pounds; yes, it scared me as well). 12 oz. of beef broth 2 bay leaves (I don’t know what they do, but they’re important)
For the “I totally made this from scratch” barbecue sauce:
1 medium onion, chopped (I cried a little)
2 tablespoons canola oil 2 garlic cloves, minced (again, because garlic is life)
1 cup ketchup
½ cup molasses (sticky chaos)
¼ cup cider vinegar
2 tsp chilli powder
12 teaspoon mustard ground What I Did (As if I were a champion) The Treatment at the Brisket Spa I grabbed a big bowl and threw in Worcestershire sauce, chilli powder, garlic, celery salt, pepper, and liquid smoke. I cut the brisket in half (we both survived) and gave it a full massage in this spicy potion. Covered it, popped it in the fridge overnight, and whispered, “Become delicious.”
Slow Cooker Magic Time
Next day, I placed the brisket into my slow cooker like it was royalty. Added beef broth and bay leaves (for vibes). Lid on. Cooked on low for six to eight hours, during which time I walked by pretending to know everything. Sauce Creation – The Smell Test
In a saucepan, I sautéed onions in oil until soft and smelling amazing. tossed in the garlic for one more minute because I didn't want to lose my reputation if it burned. I then added mustard, molasses, ketchup, vinegar, and chilli powder. stirred like a boss sauce. The Situation of Juice I took the brisket out (carefully, like a bomb expert), tossed the bay leaves, and saved 1 cup of the cooking juices. Skimmed off the fat like I’m on a cooking show. Mixed that liquid gold straight into my barbecue sauce.
Reunion of the Final Flavors Brisket went back into the slow cooker. Sauce went on top like a warm blanket. Cooked on high for 30 minutes so everything could bond emotionally.
The Big Reveal
Google assisted me in cutting the brisket thinly across the grain. Poured sauce over it generously. Stood back. Admired my work. proudly nodded. 🍽️ Serving Moment
I casually stated, "Oh this? ", as I served it hot and dripping with sauce. merely something I made up." Texas may not know me, but this brisket and I are now officially friends. 🤠🥩
