Nowadays, Persian cats are among the most popular cat breeds. Known for their gentle and lovable nature and long fur, Persian cats have very attractive features. No matter what color a Persian cat may be, the best way to spot it at competitions is by its long, flowing coat. Persian cats should always be kept indoors to protect their fur. If they travel outside, they can easily damage their fur. They will also need to be brushed daily with a metal comb, otherwise their fur can become tangled, which will lead to ingrown hairs. You will also need to bathe your Persian cat regularly to help protect its coat. Bathing works best when the cat is young because it gets used to it. Bathing should never be neglected as it will keep your cats coat clean and healthy. Although some breeds can maintain their fur on their own, Persians cannot. Their coat is long and thick and you will need to groom them daily to ensure their coat stays healthy. The Persian breed is gentle and sweet, and gets along well with everyone - including children. They have a pleasant voice that is always easy to hear. They can communicate very well with their owners using their voice and eyes. They are very playful, yet do not require much attention. However, they love attention and love admiration. Unlike other cats, they don't climb and jump much at all. Nor are they destructive; they just love to be admired and hang around. Most of the time, Persian cats like to bask in the sun and show others how beautiful they really are. Although most breeds can be kept indoors or outdoors, Persian cats should always be kept indoors and never go outside the house. Keep them indoors and protect their fur as well as keep them away from disease and common parasites. You won't even have to worry about cars or dogs if you keep your pet inside. To ensure that your Persian pet stays healthy, you should always take it to the vet once a year. With proper care such as grooming, shots and checkups, Persian cats can live up to 20 years. One thing you need to be aware of that Persians have in common is their eyes. Their eyes are very large and can sometimes be too big for a cat. This is a common health problem of the breed and should be checked regularly to ensure it does not get out of control. When you compare Persians to other breeds, you will notice that Persians are among the easiest to breed. You don't have to worry about things like jumping or climbing because Persians don't like to do that either. All you have to do is feed your cat and clean it daily. Although grooming can be quite a chore in the long run - it's worth it when you have a healthy, beautiful Persian cat.
