How Can Dance Performance Be Made Accessible for a Non-sighted Audience?

Dance, is the movement of the body in a rhythmic way, usually to music and within a given space, for the purpose of expressing an idea or emotion, releasing energy, or simply taking delight in the movement itself.

 

Dance is a powerful impulse, but the art of dance is that impulse channeled by skillful performers into something that becomes intensely expressive and that may delight spectators who feel no wish to dance themselves. These two concepts of the art of dance—dance as a powerful impulse and dance as a skillfully choreographed art practiced largely by a professional few—are the two most important connecting ideas running through any consideration of the subject. In dance, the connection between the two concepts is stronger than in some other arts, and neither can exist without the other. A truly universal definition of dance must, therefore, return to the fundamental principle that dance is an art form or activity that utilizes the body and the range of movement of which the body is capable. Unlike the movements performed in everyday living, dance movements are not directly related to work, travel, or survival. Dance may, of course, be made up of movements associated with these activities, as in the work dances common to many cultures, and it may even accompany such activities. But even in the most practical dance movements that make up the dance are not reducible to those of straightforward labor; rather, they involve some extra qualities such as self-expression, aesthetic pleasure, and entertainment. Dancing can be a way to stay fit for people of all ages, shapes, and sizes. It has a wide range of physical and mental benefits, including the improved condition of your heart and lungs. Increased muscular strength, endurance, and motor fitness. It can be recreation, entertainment, education, therapy, and religion. In its purest and most basic form, dance is art, the art of body movement. There are five elements of dance, Body, Action., Space., Time., and Energy. Dance burns calories strengthens muscles, improves balance, increases flexibility, and gives the heart a good workout. Dance has also been proven to increase cognitive development. Dancer refers to a series of sets of movements to music that we can either do alone or with a partner. Dancing helps us express our feelings and get active as well. If we look back at history, dance has been a part of our human history since the earliest records. Dance is the art form in which human movement becomes the medium for sensing, understanding, and communicating ideas, feelings, and experiences. Dance has its own content, vocabulary, skills, and techniques, which must be understood and applied to be proficient in the art. Your dancing is so beautiful, even if you don't always feel like it is.
