How can create your small business website?

A website is an important ingredient in your marketing strategy because it can expand your target market to include anyone who has access to a computer and internet. About 60% of Canadians had access to the Internet at home in 2003, and nearly 8 million people were able to access the Internet regularly from anywhere, either at home, at work or at school.Ecommerce sales from Canada were $7.2 billion, and we only captured 4% of the global ecommerce market! So, how can you reach out to some of those internet users, and how can you take away some of that $7.2 billion spent on ecommerce? First, you create the first step to designing your website. If your company already has business cards and letterhead, it's best to design your own website. Business ownership similar to a website helps with branding. I like simple websites, with a simple structure and easy navigation. Beautiful, simple design, beautiful graphics, balanced look and beautiful color combinations are my # 1 goal when designing a small business website. Remember to use less photos and customize your website because internet users are impatient. If your page loads too slowly, they will leave. Navigation should be easy to find and use, and should go hand in hand with page by page. I left more than one site frustrated because I could not easily find their way around. Websites for small businesses do not stand together. They change. You need to start somewhere, and starting with a web site is probably a lot easier. All you really need is to start five pages. You can add pages later. The main thing is to just do it - jump and get out of there. Your five pages may include an index, or a home page, about us, services, a contact and a site map. The index page is your prediction page. Its composition is usually more detailed than others, but it should not be that way. I like to use CSS (Cascading Style Sheets) to design because it's easier to build a website and edit its layout with CSS than HTML (HyperText Markup Language) alone. A change in the CSS sheet changes all the pages in your site at once. Content is master Once your site has been designed, you will want to start thinking about content. Design is very important, but it does very little to have a good site that does not have high quality content. Your small business homepage introduces you and your company — who you are and what you do. The About Us page is often used to provide more information than your home page about who you are, and your service's page provides more information about what you do. You may be wondering why you can "spoil" a page on a site map as you only have 5 pages, but site maps help search engines find all the pages on your site. As for the content, a lot is better, up to a point. Your pages should be rich and informative, but they also need to be relevant to your small business. If your visitor can find out what your website is about in just a few seconds, it may be gone. The Internet was initially a virtual reality, and it still is today. Many times people have tried to experiment using copywriting such as direct mail marketing letters, but all have failed. It seems that people use the Internet more to get information than anything else. Knowing this will help you to write pages that people will want to read. Inviting visitors, You can follow your instincts and start writing, but wait. There is research to do first, or your website may not be high enough to be searchable. Search engine optimization is too big a topic we could cover in this short article, but among other things, search engines find your pages based on keywords. So, pretend you are on the other side of the desk. If you were a customer for your business, what words or phrases could you use to search for your product or service? Ask friends and neighbors how they can search for your product or services. You can use that tool to suggest similar words and phrases. Then find out how many results you can have if you search for that term. What you want to do next is narrow down your choice of words or phrases that are highly searchable, but have very few results. Keep in mind that people usually do not look beyond the first three pages of any search term, so if you are not in the top three pages, your business will probably not find you at all. If there are millions of results in your sentence, you may need to make it clearer. For example, suppose you have a small business consulting company that specializes in small business communications. Using “links” as a search term is almost useless because there are probably 2 billion results for that term. However, there are only 974 results for "small business communication". Very good, but how often is that wanted? According to Corncracker, it is searched 10 times a day. What about "small business consultation"? That is 261 searches a day, and has 373,000 results. That would be a great key phrase for a small business communications company. What you want to do, write your content in those words and phrases. You do not want or need too much — three or four have too many. Getting them back again and again, getting visitors back to your site often is easy. Keep your content fresh and healthy, make sure it's informative, and always add to it. I hope you decide that your small business needs a website. It is the best way I know how to reach a targeted audience with a small investment.
