Natural ways to deal with frizzy hair
So how can we control frizz? Here are some simple yet effective ways to deal with frizzy hair:
Use the right shampoo
If the hair is dry and damaged, use a mild shampoo. Apply a very small amount of shampoo and rinse well with water. After shampooing, apply a creamy conditioner and gently massage it into the hair. Leave on for 2 minutes and rinse with clean water. You can also apply a leave-in conditioner or hair serum. Serum is the new buzzword these days and hair serums are very popular. Very little product should be used. It can be lightly applied to hair with fingers. Or take very little and rub it into both palms. Then smooth your hair with your palms.
Vegetable oil may be sufficient
Another easy way to improve frizzy hair is to take 2 drops of a light vegetable oil, like sunflower oil. Place it on your palms and gently rub your palms together to spread the oil across both palms. You can run your hands over your hair. Or take the ends of your hair in your palms and scrunch them. Do the same with the rest of the hair, going up from the ends. This works better on dry hair. Let the oil work.
You can also use coconut oil on frizzy hair. Once or twice a week, warm pure coconut oil and apply it to your scalp and hair. Then wrap in a hot towel.
Deep conditioning your way to healthy hair
Another simple solution is to mix some water with hair conditioner and put it in a spray bottle. Spray the mixture on your hair and then comb through your hair to distribute it throughout your hair. Deep conditioning would also help. Once a week, mix one egg, one tablespoon of coconut oil, lemon juice, and one teaspoon of pure glycerin. These ingredients should be mixed well. You can use an egg beater if you want. Massage well into the scalp and apply to the hair as well. Put on a plastic cap and leave it on for an hour before washing your hair.
What to avoid?
Avoid hot water while shampooing. Rinsing your hair with cold water helps with frizz. Hot water can actually increase frizz.
Avoid rubbing your hair after shampooing. Just wrap a towel around your head and let it soak up the water.
Avoid using a hair dryer every time you wash your hair. Let your hair dry naturally sometimes. Avoid brushing your hair. Use a wide-tooth comb or dry your hair with your fingers.
If you use a hair dryer at home, use a large round brush. Divide the hair into sections. Pin them up and dry one section at a time. Blow downwards. Using a hair dryer can cause more frizz.
