Apple WatchOS 8.7: Apple has released the WatchOS 8.7 update for its Watch users. This is the sixth major update for the watchOS 8 operating system. This new update is launched from September 2021.
The Computer Emergency Response Team of India (CERT-In), under the Union Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology, has identified several vulnerabilities in Apple WatchOS versions. It also mentioned that it could pose a threat to user data security.
According to information released by CERT-In, vulnerabilities in Apple Watch include buffering scripts in AppleAVD component, authentication issue in Apple Mobile File Integrity (AMFI) component, out-of-bounds writing in audio, WebKit, issue in ICU component.
Further, "These vulnerabilities are convenient for hackers. Users can easily steal information. All the bugs have been identified," CERT-In said in its report.
Apple Watch OS new update
In this context, Apple released a software update on July 20, 2022. It is supposed to fix many vulnerabilities. Apple Watch Series 3 and above users should update to the latest WatchOS 8.7 operating system.
Apple has said that this is the only way to keep the smart watch safe. Apple also advises users to update immediately when new versions are available. Notably, the company recently launched its new Apple Watch Series 7 smartwatches.

There you will find Software Update under General Settings
Click on it
Download and install the new operating system update
