How Apple and Android is changing with time.

Apple vs Android

“The latest version of your device you use to browse the web, watch videos, and play games is what it will be used for in two years.” — Henry Ford, The History Teacher (1875) – Web page. Apple vs Android. As it has been explained in numerous articles on this topic, there have always been technological differences between these two companies that make them stand out from each other. This disparity can best be seen when taking into consideration the recent launch of the Apple iPhone 12 and Android 10 that took place by both companies during a single year. Considering the way that they are the two most famous cell phone brands on the planet just as their separate fame, it appears to be consistent to presume that there should be an explanation that prompted such an astonishing jump forward. But why? How could Apple foster some innovation at a quicker rate than Android when contrasted with other comparative items like PlayStation 4 or Sony PlayStation 5? To answer this question, we need to look at how iOS and Google Assistant came to be. Apple is very popular to become one of the main makers and supply organizations of cell phones all through the world. Although they only provide them in 64 nm format, they still dominate nearly every other category in smartphones, which makes it clear that their company is the leader in the mobile industry. From its entry to iPad manufacturing facilities across the globe, its market share is enormous. On the mobile front, iOS is probably a bit less well-known as compared to Android. However, it is estimated that roughly 20% of consumers use iPhones, iPods, and iPads to surf the web, watch video clips, and play games. It is also possible to find many users downloading apps from apps stores and making a purchase after reading reviews and testing it on third-party devices. In essence, they provide everything needed from a smartphone device, including features such as high definition display, camera, microphone, Wi-Fi, GPS, and Bluetooth along with many more accessories. All of this shows clearly that Microsoft’s Windows platform did not come to play, but rather Apple did.

With Apple dominating the smartphone market, it was no surprise that Google had little choice but to pick up where Apple left off, and so they followed suit. They were forced to go back in time and create a new operating system of their own called Android, which allowed them to control their destiny, and so to do that they chose to take over Motorola’s Symbian in 1999, and then released the first devices of the era, Nokia Galaxy, BlackBerry QWERTY, and Palm Pilot. So now, both Microsoft and Google operate under the same principles, and everyone knows who exactly created the mobile OS and device names.

It seems logical that Microsoft could not keep up and continue running with developing the current OS for smartphones, and thus he decided to give Google a chance to take another step further. That is when Google Assistant comes into being. If Apple didn’t try something new here, maybe Microsoft just won the war once again! Let’s have a look at how Google Assistant came about.

Google Assistant is a voice-activated virtual personal assistant that is located on the Pixel series devices, mostly phones, but some tablets as well. At least, until 2020, Google had made a bet of bringing AI to almost every brand, including their flagship Chromes. Since the inception of Artificial Intelligence (AI), Google has managed to revolutionize human intelligence; however, it is much easier for a computer to recognize words in pictures, than understand words in real life. While artificial intelligence has helped humanity immensely since the onset of computers, when it came to smartphones, the company thought it would take a long time for consumers to adapt and eventually change their minds. With Google Assistant coming around, all Google users were set to get the “OK Google” feature on nearly any smartphone.

Google Assistant is accessible through the Google Home speakers, which lets the user interact with machines of their choice, from robots to cars, etc. Users can even speak to anything that is smart or connected, so using the commands given to them. A major advantage that Google has brought over Apple is that they have a better understanding of what people want, and thus make their product the right fit for them. They know what questions people are searching for, for example, if their name tag does not match the rest of their contact information, Google would know what they have added instead of having to search for hours looking for answers. Now, thanks to Google Assistant, they have a very quick and easy way to interact with their devices, as opposed to Siri, which had limited features and did not make sense given the context of its usage that required a higher level of knowledge. For instance, unlike Siri, Google Assistant allows multiple simultaneous conversations to happen simultaneously, and the responses are also delivered to multiple people, depending on the situation. Also, unlike Siri, Google Assistant helps identify voices of particular genders while identifying different accents. These are just a few things that Google Assistant has changed as compared to Siri.

Google Assistant offers users improved features and makes them smarter in terms of knowledge and skills. One thing that has never been more common with Google Assistant though is that it listens to various languages and responds appropriately. Unlike Siri, Google Assistant allows people to train it in different languages, so it becomes more advanced and smarter in response to different situations. Some examples where users could start speaking to Google Assistant now and make commands that only they could do before are security and privacy issues, as users would no longer have the ability to track data by putting their devices at risk. Another factor that Google Assistant brings is notifications on WhatsApp. As it currently works on Google Photos and Android, it means that people get notifications of events and meetings that are happening within the network. By working together with the company at making Google Assistant work on smartphones, such a feature gives the company an edge over Apple.

Google Assistant has many advantages as compared to Siri. Google Assistant is powered by machine learning algorithms and learns to recognize various languages, so users can ask questions to it, however, the biggest benefits Google assistants offer are still simple interactions. They are also more accurate than Siri. Also, unlike Siri, Google Assistant is available on more devices like desktop PCs. Even though Samsung launched it's S Pen to replace the traditional mechanical pen that was commonly used in smartphones prior, the S Pen provides a great alternative that also comes with some unique features. One thing that never happens these days is that S Pen appears on every Android device, that is, smartphones, laptops, and tablets. Most people don't care about the physical appearance of their smartphones anymore, and instead, they love how they function better and perform better than ever with the help of their smartphones.

Google Assistant is a big step forward in the development of the mobile industry because it makes the app store and applications easier and quicker to access, it eliminates the limitations associated with the previous versions of the operating systems, and finally, it gets rid of the middleman as well as the internet search. There is also ease in setting up the cloud storage on the software, and it has brought many exciting features like music playing, translation, and other features that users have never experienced before. There is a big shift that continues to appear in the mobile industry.
