Chittagong District Civil Surgeon Elias Chowdhury came to Chamek Hospital at 12:30 pm. He said that at the moment, all the doctors in Chittagong city and its vicinity came to Chamek Hospital and requested for the cooperation of the patients.

Twenty-one members of the fire service have been injured in the blast. 6 have been admitted to CMH and the remaining 15 to Chamek Hospital.
He told the media at 2 pm that the fire service unit was working. So far the fire has not been brought under control.
BM Container Depot Director Mujibur Rahman said the cause of the fire could not be ascertained. However, I think the fire started from the container. He declared that he would stand by the victims from the moral and humanitarian point of view. Arrangements are being made for the injured to get maximum treatment.
He further said that from a humanitarian point of view, everyone should stand by. We will bear the full cost of treatment. Those who have suffered casualties in this accident will be given maximum compensation. Besides, the families of all the victims will be taken care of.
In such a situation, prayers are being made for rain in the mosques of Chittagong. As if the fire can be easily brought under control.
