Most boxers have a mental picture in their heads that they wish to embody. That picture may come from their genes or upbringing but this could also be the result of diet and exercise. Mark Magsayo is one of them. Mark has been described as a bulking boxer and his physique definitely gives him a legitimate defensive shot when he wants it. Most of his opponents prefer a tactical approach and if Magsayo tries to hit he is likely to get hit back. He has found that to be the case on numerous occasions.
Magsayo admitted that he does possess a stocky build but what does this mean when it comes to his boxing? It is not wise to overly rely on a physical strength in your game, it is more a question of the strategy one uses to prevail in the ring. Mark is well aware of the strength in his body and has planned his weight and strategies to use it to his advantage.
This is the right time to call Magsayo on his diet. He has not just been using a regular weight room; he has been doing hard weight work out. He admitted that he has been doing his body fat analysis. He needs to do what he does to his body to increase his endurance, strength and power to his advantage.
The use of body fat analysis has been used in various sports by experts. Just as in any sport, athletes want to make sure they are working with the correct composition of the body. It is not that it would be dangerous to do so but doing so and not doing the exercises will be a waste of time. It has been found that when athletes have too much body fat, their endurance level will be compromised and their metabolism will slow. What can be more dangerous than a lack of body fat?
In the boxing ring, one needs to be in optimal condition and with the potential of winning. It is a matter of doing the proper training to ensure that the individual does not drop out of the game due to a non-physical issue such as low levels of energy and stamina. When an athlete reaches his optimal levels of fitness, he can then go into a full training phase to accomplish his goals.
What Magsayo has proven to himself is that he is the most fit competitor in the Philippines at the moment. He has never been that bad but he is on the right track with proper training and proper diet to reach his goals. Magsayo has already come a long way in his career and if he continues to work hard with more focus and determination to take his career to the next level, then who knows. He can win the world title and take his career in the boxing arena to another level.
Mark Magsayo is trying to make the most of his career and it is important that he works with a nutritionist that can help him focus and achieve his goals. He has proven that he is dedicated and has a drive to become the best in the world. So the nutritionist that is a good fit with him must be someone who is willing to put his or her knowledge into practice for him.
For Magsayo, this is a must-win fight. He has the opportunity to become the National Boxing Federation (PBF) International bantamweight champion. This title is the PBF's highest weight division and only the Philippines' best boxer will be able to hold this title. To achieve that he needs to come up with a winning game plan for this bout and deliver a great performance.
Along with him comes Omar Nino Ortega (19-5-3, 4 KOs), a Mexican boxer and former interim WBC World Latino champion. Omar has just come from an over two-year hiatus. His last fight was in January 2016 when he got beaten by a controversial disqualification loss. This has been attributed to fighting a 19-year-old bantamweight who has over twice his age in the ring.
He has been out of the ring due to contract disputes with an unsatisfied promoter. Magsayo is giving Omar a chance to redeem himself in a good fight.
It would be remiss if we did not mention the battle of the Filipino boxer that is set to take place at the Cotai Arena on Saturday.
