Molly Sampson, a fourth grader from Sovereign Frederick, Maryland, made the surprising find on Calvert Ocean side.

Molly let CNN know that she has gone through years searching Maryland's sea shores for shark teeth, roused by her dad's affection for fossils.

"They're simply cool since they're truly old," she said.

Molly's mom Alicia Sampson added that her girl has long held onto an affection for investigating the outside. "She adores treasure hunting," she made sense of.

Maryland's Calvert Precipices State Park is known as a focal point for fossil finding, Alicia Sampson added.

For Christmas, Molly asked her folks for cold-water waders with the goal that she could chase after shark teeth and different fossils in the Chesapeake Straight. Furnished with her new stuff, she set out at 9:30 a.m. to look for the remainders of old hunters.

"I saw something significant, and it seemed to be a shark tooth," she said. "We were about knee somewhere down in the water."

The Sampsons took their intriguing find to the Calvert Marine Gallery, where fossil science caretaker Stephen Godfrey validated their premonitions: It was for sure the tooth of a megalodon, the gigantic sharks that resided in excess of quite a while back.

Alicia Sampson expressed kids all over the planet have sent letters to Molly sharing their energy at her disclosure. She set up an Instagram page to share her little girls' open air undertakings.

Molly said she desires to show the immense tooth in a shadowbox in her room - and one day desires to turn into a scientist.
