Making sure your child gets the correct nourishment may be challenging if they are a picky eater. Here are 6 meals that are hydrating that you may give your child this summer.
It's time for more outside play now that the much-awaited summer vacations have started, but with the temperature rising each day, one prevalent worry among parents is whether their kids are getting enough fluids in their bodies to withstand the heat. It's important to keep kids hydrated and healthy, but it's not always simple!
Dr. Ganesh Kadhe, Director, of Medical and Scientific Affairs at Abbott's Nutrition business, recommended six nourishing and hydrating meals that you can offer your child this summer in an interview with HT Lifestyle.

Fruits:
Hydration in children can be improved by giving them watery fruits like watermelons, oranges, and apricots. These fruits are not only high in water content but also a good source of potassium, vitamin C, and vitamin A, all of which have several health advantages. These fruits can be served in bite-sized portions or even sliced into geometric forms like triangles, stars, and circles.
Children adore popsicles. If persuading your child to drink water is proving difficult, you can freeze fresh fruit juice or even their preferred fruit milkshake in a tiny glass to form a popsicle. These are also great options for kids who might be in the mood for something chilly. These popsicles can provide them with fluids and important nutrients from fruits.
Fruit Lassi:
If your child resists consuming the recommended quantity of water, try giving them a lassi that is made with yogurt and milk. To make them excited about drinking the lassi, you might offer them this in their preferred cup and include a goofy straw in their preferred color. For instance, you may prepare a papaya and pineapple lassi to appeal to your child's taste buds. Additionally, pineapple is a great choice for summer fruit because it's a large source of vitamin C and has a high water content. On the other hand, papaya is a good source of vitamins A and C.
A bowl of mixed vegetable salad is a fantastic source of fiber and protein. A salad with watery green and yellow ingredients like cucumber, watermelon, olives, and cherry tomatoes might be the ideal savory summer dish.
Tea Party:
Serve your child warm, kid-friendly teas like chamomile or peppermint. Organizing a tea party for dolls or teddy bears could persuade some kids to hydrate and drink plenty of fluids. While chamomile tea has anti-inflammatory properties and is abundant in nutrients like calcium, magnesium, and folate, natural components in peppermint may have positive impacts on energy as well for your child's playtime.
Spa water:
Kids can use spa water too! To improve the flavor and color of your child's glass of water, add slices of strawberries, cucumbers, or lemons. They are appealing to kids and offer hydrating qualities. Berries can be added to water to give it a delicious flavor and a splash of vibrant color.
If your child is a fussy eater, it may be difficult to ensure they are getting the right nutrition through their food during the summers. Serving these fun and colorful food options will make it easier for you to incorporate nutritious foods in their diet. Consider trying a combination of these options to help your child maintain a consistent intake of fluids and nutritious food throughout the day this season.
