1. Renewable fuels

Aviation is now among the leading sources of greenhouse gases emitted into the atmosphere. Industry has made a lot of progress in this area, where technologies like Honeywell's EcofiningTM have managed to create sustainable aviation fuel that satisfies and exceeds the American Society for Testing Materials jet fuel specifications. It can be made using a wide range of feedstocks, such as plant oils, and animal fats and 2nd generation feedstocks like camelina, algae, and jatropha.

Additional collaboration among businesses and governments is needed to scale up the deployment and adoption of this technology. Efforts between nations in the field of sustainable fuel must continue in order to build a legal interpretation of new and existing rules and regulations that is specifically relevant to where SAF markets and related feedstocks are today. This could help accelerate the widespread use of this innovative fuel.

These are high expectations that we should be in a position to meet.
