In a late-night announcement on Tuesday, the military's media wing stated that 25 militants who had seized the CounterTerrorism Department police station in B-A N U were killed by elite army commandos.
According to Inter-Services Public Relations (I-SPR), after the militants' request for safe transportation to Afghanistan was turned down, soldiers from the Special Service Group (SSG) prevented them from fleeing the facility.
The I-SPR asserted that the SSG commandos' great sacrifice “raises our level of love for the country” and denied that they were attacked from the outside.
On December 18, Director General I-SPR Major General Ahmed Sharif provided details of the incident, stating that a detained terrorist defeated a constable in the CTD complex within B-A N U C-A N T.
According to Maj Gen Ahmed, the terrorist released 34 other detained companions after snatching the constable's weapon.
The DG I-SPR stated, "As soon as they came out of lockup, the terrorists got more weapons from the mall and started firing", adding that one CTD constable was killed and another was injured by the terrorists.
"The injured constable passed away at the hospital later"
According to him, the junior commissioned officer who was present for the investigation was taken hostage by the terrorists, and security personnel from B-A N U C-A N T cordoned off the area as soon as they heard firing from the CTD compound.
In the firefight that followed the complex's seizure on December 18, two terrorists were killed, three were apprehended, and two security forces personnel were wounded.
He stated that every terrorist attempt to flee the complex stopped by effective encirclement.
He stated, "Efforts to induce the terrorists to surrender unconditionally continued for the next two days", noting that the terrorists nonetheless demanded safe passage to Afghanistan.
"It was made clear to the terrorists that there is no way to accept their demand that they be allowed to go to Afghanistan",
He claimed that the security forces took action against the terrorists on December 20 because they did not surrender
25 terrorists were killed during the operation, when security forces and terrorists engaged in a fierce firefight. Three terrorists were detained, and seven surrendered. The martyrs include Sepoy S-A I-D, Sepoy B-A B-E R, and S U B-E D-A R Major Khurshid A-K R-A M.

"It's a shame that the K-P chief minister doesn't even attend the funerals of the policemen, who had embraced martyrdom in terrorist attacks", he said.
