"HEPATITIS IN CHILDREN"

Hepatitis A, B, C, D, and E viruses are the most common forms of hepatitis. Hepatitis can also be caused by cytomegalovirus, Epstein-Barr, herpes simplex, measles or mumps, herpes zoster, and the AIDS virus. Hepatitis B and C viruses are the most deadly. A child infected with these can later develop various complex diseases including liver cancer and liver cirrhosis. Blood transfusions, syringes, medical equipment, and from the mother of a person infected with the 'B' and 'C' viruses. Hepatitis 'A' and 'E' viruses are usually spread through water and food.

Hepatitis or jaundice does not require hospitalization of children. However, if there is excessive jaundice, excessive vomiting, bleeding, abdominal swelling, sleep or sleep disorders, abnormal abdominal pain, etc., then the child should be admitted to the hospital. Some tests need to be done such as liver function tests including bilirubin in the blood, ultrasonogram, and presence of blood virus antibodies. If you are infected with hepatitis A and E, you will be cured if you treat it according to the general symptoms. But if infected with the 'B' virus, the child may need to be given antiviral drugs and injectable interferon. This treatment method is relatively expensive.

If the child has hepatitis, he should be given a small amount of easily digestible food as required. You have to take care of the regular toilet every day. In order to have regular bowel movements every day, lactulose and conoquine injections should be given to stop the bleeding. These must be done according to the doctor's advice.

Only by improving health awareness and sanitation can liver disease be prevented by most viruses. Hepatitis A' and 'E' germs can prevent hepatitis B by washing hands thoroughly with soap and water after going to the toilet, changing the baby's diapers, and cooking. Before donating syringes and other medical equipment and blood, make sure that it is Hepatitis B and C virus free. Hepatitis B' and 'C' are spread in children through the mother's blood and cord during childbirth. For this, mothers should be careful not to be infected by the virus. However, in that case, the necessary action must be taken quickly. In this case, even if the virus is spread from the mother's breast milk, this milk can be given to save the life of the baby. If the mother is infected with the 'B' virus, the newborn should be vaccinated against hepatitis B and immunoglobulin immediately after birth. Regular vaccinations can also protect children from hepatitis 'A' and 'B' attacks. The 'A' virus can be vaccinated from the age of one year. Hepatitis B virus vaccination for children is provided free of charge at immunization centers. Hepatitis B virus can be vaccinated at any age.
