Google Ads vs Google AdSense: Introduction and Comparison of two Google Ad Platforms.  

Introduction

      Google offers two advertising platforms that are Google Ads and Google AdSense platform that is used for promoting advertisements online. The common word between the two platforms is 'Ads'. Ads can be words, images, or videos, and the generation of mobile app links for downloading. These have some meaning or platform to attract the audience, deliver data related to what people are searching for, and lastly display on search engine outcome pages. The procedure for setting up both these platforms is quite different. There are various types of ads used in both Google Ads and AdSense.  

Google Ads 

      Google Ads was previously known as Google AdWords. It is a Google Platform that is used for placing advertisements in Google for promoting the business online. Google Ads are displayed on SERP (Search Engine Result Pages). The businesses plan to fund and show ads on the Google Advertising network. Google Ads permits PPC (Pay per click) Ads creators to promote on Google Display Network or Google Ad Network, and Google Search Network. It encourages users to get more phone calls and rise shop visits. It is a smarter and easier way to grow your business and helps to improve ads over a period for better outcomes. The different types of Ad formats available for campaigning are as follows shopping ads, discovery, image, text, responsive, app promotion ads, call-only ads, and video.  

Google AdSense 

    Google AdSense is a kind of system that allows the publisher or owner of the website for selling ad space to other businesses. From the word AdSense, the 'sense' stands for the sensibility of placing the content of Ads (text, image or video, or a link) at a specific place or medium where many viewers can be reached. Here, a publisher means the one who has his/her website and is willing to sell the ad in his/her space along with the actual content. A publisher can sell primarily three types of ads: text ads, display ads, and rich media ads. Google AdSense works on a cost-per-click (CPC) advertising program that links marketers and online publishers. AdSense works on three stage modes, namely:

  • Availability of Space 
  • Appearance 
  • Payment of AdSense

Google Ads vs Google AdSense 

  1. Google Ads is mainly used by advertisers, while Google AdSense is mainly used by publishers. 
  2. Google AdWords was launched in the year 2000, and in 2018 it was renamed Google Ads on the other hand Google AdSense was launched in the year 2003 as a web-based application. 
  3. Registration in Google Ads is much easier, one has to just log in through a Google account or create a new one as compared to Google AdSense which has a detailed process that involves personal details and account type, language, and website URL. 
  4. Ads are used for buying advertisements from Google, and Google AdSense is used for selling advertising space to Google. In Ads, the businesses pay for putting their ads, while in AdSense the website owner is being paid by Google. 
  5. Google Ads allows displaying one ad on a particular page for a specific amount of period. AdSense doesn't have a fixed number of ads that can be shown, but the limit should not be extreme that it could destroy than profit. 
  6. Optimization is important for Ads, but is not optional for AdSense. 
  7. The inventory type that is available for Ads is in Web or App format, and AdSense is in Web format. 

Conclusion 

     In 2022, Google Ads declared its preferences which majorly include automation, privacy, and measurement. Google itself is a huge tech giant that none of its products will fail, that includes Ads and AdSense and similar other products. Other similar products include Google AdMob and Ad Manager. Both ad networks improve traffic and have a better yield for monetization. Both aim to attract advertisers and publishers and gear up the business. Ads and AdSense help marketers, companies, and bloggers to boost their businesses.
