To make you understand, I just wanted to briefly describe how the Theory of "PROTESTANT ETHICS AND SPIRIT OF CAPITALISM " is talking about and what are there postulates so that you can directly apply these things in your routine Work.
Here the Protestant religion is within Christianity in Europe, basically for the Capitalist class. But here in this religious devotion is for Work, and Work is sacred for them. And the second one is Spirit, here Spirit means not so-called Ghost-like things; it means ambitious and enthusiastic towards What they wanted to do.
Weber was concerned with Protestantism, mainly as a system of ideas, and its impact on the rise of another method of ideas, THE SPIRIT OF CAPITALISM, and ultimately how these ideas lead to evaporation of the CAPITALIST economic system.
His analysis starts with an observation-'In modern Europe, business leaders, owners of capital, and higher grades of skilled laborers and even more, the higher technologically and commercially trained personnel in the modern enterprise are predominantly protestant' Here the capitalism represented by the entrepreneurs and experienced personnel. This observation led Weber to ponder over if there-is there any correlation between Protestantism and capitalism?'
Thus Weber makes an empirical(scientific) observation based on the existing records. Based on these observations, Weber developed the Ideal types of Capitalism and Protestant ethics. Based on these observations, Weber made a comparative study with other religions and found what factors cause capitalism's bringing up.
Here are the main Postulates of his observation, and I make sure that it is really worth it if you just wanted to do something different.
A..Postulates of Protestant Ethics(Calvinism).
1. All Work is sacred... Work is not mere Work. It is a mission and should be done with devotion to the Glory of God.
2. Wealth has to be conserved and devoted to God -wealth earned through hard Work should not be spent on luxuries but in the Glory of God.
3. This worldly asceticism-Protestant ethics suggest strict self-discipline with no enjoyment and more hard Work for the Glory of God.
B.. Postulates of Capitalism
1. It is an economic system that is aimed at unlimited accumulation of profit.
2. Work in modern capitalism is organized rationally.
3. Various ethics in capitalism are, time is money, Work should be done well, Work should be done well, Work is for an end called profit.
4. capitalism honors individualism, innovation, profit, and Hard Work.
So these are the main Postulates that were observed by Weber during the study of his hypothesis. In the contemporary world, we can also keep these hypotheses accurate in the context of, like in India, Gujarati Marwadi, who are also primarily considered business class, are classic examples.
Also, some sociological thinkers like Pierre Borthou are talking about Culture of excellence..where peer group, family means societal factors are the leading pushing and pulling factors..that's the main reason for most lower-class besides doing hard Work, still struggling to come up in middle or higher class.
