Geological Time Scale

 Geologists have determined the age of our earth as 20 billion times. The whole span of the earth's history is divided into units, large and small. The major divisions are called (ages) which in turn divide into ages, which in turn divides into“ ages ”. These divisions of the geological time are arranged on a timescale called the geological timescale. 

This record is grounded on the study of gemstone (sedimentary) that form the earth's crust. These are a discrepancy in the life record of geologic time. 

 So the earth is divided into two major eon’SI. E

 1. Cryptozoic eon 

 2. Phanerozoic eon 

 The Cryptozoic eon was much longer than the Phanerozoic. It's also called the pre-Cambrian period. The first geological timescale was developed by Giovanni Arduino, an Italian scientist, in 1760. 

 EONS 

 Eon means a valuable time or a time interval including two or further ages. 

 Types of Eons; 

 Generally, the following three eons are honored 

 1   Archean Eon 

 2. Proterozoic Eon 

 3. Phanerozoic Eon 

 Archean Eon 

 • Lasted from 2500 million times ago- to 4600 million times ago 

 • Foremost shops (marine algae) developed. 

 • The first life bacteria came into actuality (3800 million times a gone) 

 • The oldest jewels (3500 million times a gone) were formed in this period. 

 Proterozoic Eon

 • Lasted from 540 million times ago to 2500 million times a gone. 

 • Marine pets were presumably common, many with shells. 

 • Glaciations took place in this period, presumably worldwide. 

 Phanerozoic Eon

 • Began from 540 million times a gone and is still continuing at the moment 

 • Divided into three ages; 

 • i) Paleozoic period (once life) 

 • ii) Mesozoic period (middle life) 

 • iii) Cenozoic period (present life) 

 ages; Eons are divided into ages. Ages are in turn divided into ages, ages, and periods. Ages are the veritably long span of geological time. It's the alternate longest portion of geological time (eons are the longest). A period is composed of one or further geological ages. 

 Following 5 ages are honored; 

 1. Archaeology or Cenozoic (High life or dawn of life) 

 2. Proterozoic (Early life) 

 3. Paleozoic (Ancient life) 

 4. Mesozoic (Medieval life) 

 5. Cenozoic (Recent life) 

 ages; 

These are the fundamental units of the standard geological timescale. Each period is subdivided into time units called ages. The Paleozoic has 7, the Mesozoic 3, and the Cenozoic 2. Since we're presently living in the Cenozoic observance, there may be further ages yet to come. Each period is characterized by a kindly, less profound change in life forms as compared to ages. There are 12 pages;

3. Ages of Cenozoic Period; 

 These are two ages 

 1- Tertiary 

 2- Quaternary 

 EPOCHS 

Each of the twelve pages is divided into still lower units called ages. Except for the seven ages which have been named for the Cenozoic period, those of other ages aren't generally appertained to by specific names. The ages of the Cenozoic are constantly subdivided into ages. 

 The ages of the Cenozoic period are 

 1- Quaternary Period; There are two ages, 

  Recent 

 II. Pleistocene 

2- Tertiary Period It's subdivided into five ages. 

 Pliocene 

 Miocene 

 Oligocene 

 Eocene 

 Paleocene
