Mechanism of Action
Water vapor naturally migrates from areas of higher temperature to lower temperature. Hypak™ employs a specialized air barrier membrane on the warmer side of the thermal insulation and a waterproof, breathable layer on the colder side. This configuration prevents water vapor from penetrating the insulation and allows any infiltrated moisture to disperse. By simultaneously dispersing and blocking water vapor, Hypak™ prevents accumulation within the envelope, keeps insulation dry, reduces cold bridge formation, minimizes freezing and expansion damage, enhances heat retention, and reduces energy consumption.
