Tinder Mehran, a 27-year-old bodybuilder, defied the odds and achieved remarkable success despite being born with only one hand. Hailing from Delhi, Tinder's journey to becoming Mr. Delhi began with his unwavering determination and relentless hard work. From 2016 to 2018, he consecutively clinched the coveted title of Mr. Delhi three times.
Born and raised in Delhi, Tinder's family faced financial struggles. His father worked as an auto driver, while his mother worked as a maid to make ends meet. Recognizing that Tinder would face challenges in sustaining himself and supporting the family, his parents made the heart-wrenching decision to sell him for a mere twenty thousand rupees when he was just two months old. Fortunately, his paternal aunt intervened and rescued him, taking him under her wing as her own child. She lovingly nurtured him and ensured he received an education. However, due to financial constraints, Tinder had to discontinue his schooling after the tenth grade to prioritize taking care of his aunt, who had given him a second chance at life.
Throughout his childhood, Tinder encountered numerous obstacles while performing daily tasks, but he persevered and adapted. Despite facing bullying and exclusion from his peers due to his disability, he refused to let it hinder his progress. Tinder's childhood was far from ordinary, as he longed to play cricket with friends or ride a bike to school, experiences that were denied to him. However, his passion for fitness and bodybuilding blossomed, leading him on a different path.
Before joining a gym, Tinder delicately worked out at home, driven by his deep-rooted enthusiasm. Once he gained confidence, he sought out a gym near his residence and began training there. It was at this gym that his coach, Dinesh, recognized Tinder's potential and encouraged him to participate in the prestigious Mr. Delhi contest. Tinder wholeheartedly embraced the opportunity and underwent rigorous training under Dinesh's guidance.
Tinder's financial instability posed a significant challenge, preventing him from affording gym fees or maintaining a specialized diet. However, Dinesh played a pivotal role in his career, offering him free training and financial support for his dietary needs. Against all odds, Tinder emerged victorious in his first year of participating in the Mr. Delhi contest, triumphantly claiming the title in 2016. Bolstered by this initial success, he continued his relentless training, securing consecutive victories in 2017 and 2018. Out of the four times he competed in the contest, Tinder emerged triumphant three times, etching his name in the annals of history.
Despite his remarkable professional achievements, Tinder's financial situation continued to deteriorate at home. In order to support his family, he decided to pursue a job as a fitness trainer. Unfortunately, the arrival of the COVID-19 pandemic resulted in the closure of all gyms, leaving Tinder unemployed and without a source of income. However, driven by his innate self-motivation, he fearlessly confronted this new challenge.
In September 2020, Tinder took a bold step and established a food stall named "Chicken Point" in Delhi, in collaboration with his friend and partner, Sarabjot. Although Tinder aspires to eventually own his own gym, for now, he dedicates himself to serving delectable dishes such as Tandoori chicken and chicken masala at his food stall, striving to provide for his family.
Tinder's journey is a testament to his indomitable spirit and unwavering determination. Despite facing numerous hurdles, he has carved a path of success through sheer hard work and resilience. His story serves as an inspiration to all, reminding us that with perseverance and courage, we can overcome any obstacle that life presents.
