What is nutrients and its functions

ESSENTIAL NUTRIENTS

The food that we eat contain the nutrients. Human body cannot make them. Nutrients are the substances that required the body to work or perform its functions. There are six type of nutrient's that help the body functions and maintain our health. Nutrients that are needed in large amounts are called macro nutrients. Example for macro nutrients are carbohydrates, lipid and proteins. The energy from macro nutrients are coming from their chemical bonds. Chemical energy converted in to cellular energy are used to functioning the body. The unit of measurement of food energy is called calorie. The six type of nutrients are Carbohydrate's, Lipids, Proteins, Water, Vitamins and Minerals.

       FUNCTIONS OF NUTRIENTS

  1   Carbohydrates

Carbohydrates provide our body  energy. Most of the carbohydrates in food you eat are digested and broken down in to glucose before entering the bloodstream. Carbohydrates are found in both healthy and unhealthy foods. Bread, beans, milk, popcorn, potato, cookies, soft drinks.... They are also in a variety of forms. The most common and abundant forms are sugar, fiber and starches.

2  Lipids

Function of the lipids are storing the energy in body, signaling, and it is also acting as structural components of cell membrane. Some example for lipid include butter, ghee, vegetable oil, cheese, cholesterol and other steroids, waxes, phospholipids, and fat - soluble vitamin. All these compounds have similar features that are insoluble in water and soluble in organic solvents

 3   Water

Water is an essential component in our body for functions and carries the nutrients and oxygen to the cell. It also lubricates the joints in our body. Also help's to dissolve Minerals and Nutrients.

4   Proteins

The proteins provide structure and supports for cells in our body. On a large scale, they also allowed the body to move. The proteins carried small molecules within cells and throughout the body. Proteins are organic molecules that are present in living organisms. They serve a wide range of functions including organization, transportation and defense.  Proteins are composed of amino acid chain and structure levels are up to four. Certain protein examples include collagen, insulin....

5   Vitamins

Vitamins are important in good health. They are also important in body functions such as reproduction, growth...vitamins are substances that our bodies need to develop and function normally. They include vitamin A, C, D, E, K and the vitamin B (thiamine, riboflavin,  niacin, pantothenic acid biotin, vitamin B6, vitamin B12 and folate / folic acid)

6   Minerals

Minerals are important for our body to stay very healthy and smart. Body using the minerals in different types. That is keeping our borne in strong and healthy, and also helps in the health of muscles, heart, and brain working properly. Minerals are those elements on the earth and in foods that in our bodies need to develop and function normally. Those are essential for health include calcium, phosphorus, potassium, sodium, chloride, magnesium, iron,  zinc, iodine, copper...

Nutrients have several functions, that is,

1    Provide energy to do works and also helps in growth

2    it is mainly contributed to the structures

3    And regulate the chemical process in body and helps to the functions

4 The basic functions are allowing or detect and response to environmental surroundings.

5 extract the waste in the body
