These Creatures are found in all the world's oceans. In some areas, they comprise more than 95% of the total weight of animals on the deepsea floor. Despite their abundance, most people will never see those Adorable Monsters and these creatures are "The Sea Pig".You would think how could a pig be a Monster but they are, you will get an answer to your question as you will read this article further. Now, let me describe these strange creatures, sea pigs are found on the deepest abyssal depth of the world's ocean below 3.7 miles. The sea pigs got their name from their resemblance to actual pigs, it has a pinkish coloration, puffy legs and plump. These abyss walkers are about 4-6 inches and can fit in your palm. They have 5-7 pairs of enlarged tube feet which it uses to March across the mud of the abyss. They have two slender tentacles branching from its head which might look like antenne but they are just another pair of feet or could be an extra set of sensory organs that helps them to propel through the ocean. Though these piggies were not commonly known but have been found about more than 100 years ago by Swedish Zoologist Hjalmar Theél in 1882. But no one knows how did he discover these sea pigs which lives 3.7 miles below on the deep sea when there were no such technologies invented. Having to deal with lack of light, extreme pressures at the bottom of the ocean, they also have to face Parasitic infestation as a result of their skin so thin, In Fact so thin that it is actually transparent allowing the internal organs to be visible from the outside. These organs serve as a food source for some of the parasites such as small snail and Crustaceans which will burrow through the sea pig's skin and acts as hosts.
Sea pigs or sea cucumbers are Echinoderms members of family Elpidiidae having fivefold radial symmetry and does great and pretty interesting work in the Abyss as they Trawl the seafloor with the help of face tentacles for decaying plant and animal matters and feed on the organic Particles that drifts down to the bottom of the ocean. They act as a vacuum cleaner of the ocean and eat up that carcass. Sea pigs can congregate in enormous numbers when there's a meal to be had. Biologists have spotted herds of 300-600 individuals and weirdly enough, they all face in the same direction, presumably to take advantage of the Detritus floating in the current.
In that deep ocean, the sea pigs also do have a best friend to whomever it protects and that friend is King Crabs. The researchers examined about 2600 sea pigs and found that almost one-quarter of them Carried crabs. Virtually all (96 Percent) of the Crabs were juveniles of a species of King Crab called Neolithodes diomedeae were clinging to the sea pigs. The Monterey Bay Aquarium Research Institute in 2011 noticed this survival game of the king crabs.
