Building a website is not really cut and dry. There are a variety of products and services that can help you find your website where you want it or confuse it. It is also important that you make the right decisions in advance so that you do not end up redesigning your entire website due to some problem in your design planning. The amount of investment time required to be able to perform well in these software packages can range from small to VERY significant. For this reason I feel it is important to lead in the “right” way to make sure you do not waste time in the wrong places, or to learn software that may not be helpful to you later (* cough * * cough *).
Where to start depends largely on what you plan to do, and how deep you will go. For a low-quality, clean website with no default features or animations to go through. some basic html information, a skill with a good WYSIWYG editor, and an image editing program. On the other hand, if you are a person who wants to create something that will appeal to your audience then you might consider spending some great time and developing some animated skills with a program like Macromedia Flash. I personally always strive for what I believe will bring me the greatest benefit with the least amount of effort, and because of this I often end up spending all my time deep with my WYSIWYG HTML editor, and my image editor. .
## What is the editor of “WYSIWYG”? ##
WYSIWYG (What You See Is What You Get) The HTML editor lets you navigate with a little bit of HTML knowledge. Yes, that means you do not have to know EVERYTHING in HTML to have a good looking website. When you use the WYSIWYG editor it interprets what you do (inserting an image as an example) as a series of HTML tags with features, and it does it for you ... So, what you see on your screen is what you get. Instead of seeing a lot of HTML code in text format, you will be more likely to see what will appear in your browser when your site expires WHILE you are doing it. I highly recommend using the latest version of dreetweaver - it is well known as one of the best HTML editors in general. The Dreamweaver interface is very friendly, has a built-in FTP client, and is specially designed to be compatible with both code and daily webmaster.
## Editing a photo? Why do I need that? ##
Okay, let's face it: If you are going to create a * emerging * professional website it is important that you make basic, good-looking graphics. There are a lot of graphics problems that can get the job done, but in terms of power and flexibility I recommend Adobe Photoshop. Adobe Photoshop takes time to get used to, but in the end it is VERY rewarding. I ended up using my Photoshop knowledge to create not only graphics for many websites, but also to capture images, customized business cards, flyers, and other online ads such as banners. In fact, I used it in everything without animation ... But it also comes with the excellent Adobe Imageready for animation. This software is amazing, and if you are going to read ANY photo editing software I recommend you start with Photoshop because of its overall scope… help!
