EASY TIPS ON HOW TO TAKE CARE OF OUR PLANTS

We all know that trees and garden plays a crucial role in our life through which our life stays healthy. If we take care of our garden properly, it will increase the quality and longevity of our plants, fruits, and veggies.

A few hours of full sun is a must for every plant, but different plant species require different levels of care. If we want our outdoor crops and beautiful flowers to withstand the seasons, it’s important to learn the right way to take care of our garden.

1. When to Water:   For potted plants at home, we may be unsure of how often to water them. For most plants, the golden rule is to see if the first inch or so of soil is dry.

If dry, this is an indication that the plant needs water. If there are leaves that have shriveled, dry or discolored, the plant might need a little extra water than a regular routine.

When we water lightly and frequently, only the top roots are able to drink the water, and our plants may not receive the fuel it needs to survive.

Watering deeply, which entails watering our plants heavily with water, allows for all the roots to grab a drink.

To avoid overwatering, we should slowly water our plant and watch for when the water is not draining through the soil anymore. If we notice this, we have to stop watering there.

A plant can recover faster from being deprived of water than giving excess water. To rescue an overwatered plant, you may need to repot the plant and remove any unhealthy roots and overwatered soil before moving the plant into a new pot.

2. How to prepare soil:  Soil degrades over time and needs to be refreshed every so often. We can buy new soil from a local garden center, so make sure to check the quality of our garden soil and replace whenever necessary.

Adding mulch is also useful for retaining the soil moisture of your garden. Mulching material will keep weeds down while also supplying organic matter to your soil when it begins to degrade.

Fertilizing your garden is another method to keeping it healthy. Depending on the type of plant species we’re growing, use the right amount of fertilizer and apply appropriately to make sure you don’t over stress your plants.

4. Maintenance of garden tools: Garden tools should be cleaned to control disease and prevent transferring any bacteria or dangerous elements into our garden.

In addition to the other methods of garden care, clean tools can help keep your garden healthy longer.

5. How to maintenance plants: Deadheading removes old flower blooms to encourage new growth. Pruning is cutting back the branches of plants to control growth and make place for more.

Cleaning up the unhealthy bits and also create more space for our garden to flourish.

These gardening methods can promote growth, clearing out any possible hidden pests or undesirable parts, increasing room for our flower or vegetable garden to flourish.

6. When should we use fertilizer: Indoor plants don’t require fertilization unless they struggle to grow. If we’re unsure of how much or what type of fertilization to use when planting, it’s better to skip that step altogether.

Too much fertilization may actually end up killing our plant rather than helping.

7. Why to destroy the weeds: Weeds are garden killers. They can suffocate the roots of our healthy plants.

Weeds take up space and resources that our plants could be using, so weeding our garden is a must, to make our plants healthy and growing.

8. How to protect our plants from animals: Setting up a barrier around our garden bed, like a wire fence, to keep herbivores, critters, and other garden pests from destroying the plants.

Wire fencing keeps the garden safe, and it also keeps our visible and exposed to the sun.

9. Why staking the plants: Staking involves fixing sticks into the ground and tying the flower stems or other garden crops to them with cloth or thread.

Staking the plants—like cucumber, pepper, or tomato plants—reinforces the stems and keeps them from bending or breaking, keeping them upright and healthy.
