E-Commerce Business – How to Proceed With Caution

There is an epidemic in the United States. A neglected epidemic, if ignored, could cripple the U.S. economy. An epidemic that could trigger the extinction of millions of businesses. Want to know what it is? I refer to the gross negligence of e-commerce businesses.

Well, perhaps the phrases "crippling the economy" and "genocide of millions of businesses" were a bit unfounded, however, it is true that most e-commerce businesses are not built on infrastructure that includes stability. I refer to the lack of customer service support in the umbrella of businesses that call themselves "e-commerce" or "visible businesses".

It is true that the attraction of starting an e-commerce business is powerful. It sounds even so powerful as this field has attained huge scope. Such an effort often requires little that you need to be atleast focused, or no investment, a credit card processing account, and basic HTML coding knowledge. These three elements make up the basic formula for starting an e-commerce business. There are significant differences in business start-up formula and business care formula.

Explaining the latter, which makes the business more effective and well growing in managing customer relationships and support for live phone / voice account. This is an important part of the many online or “visible” businesses. Take, for example, the Internet-based company Netflix. If you do not know the company, it is a small e-commerce business focused on email DVD rental.

The brains behind Netflix's core intelligence have failed to build support for their product. There is no doubt that this decision was taken into account as they may have estimated the cost of maintaining a home call center compared to combining email-based support only. Without looking at the disputed numbers side, imagine a frustrated customer having problems with his order and has to rely on a 24-hour email response system to fix his account problems.

Based on this rational assumption, I believe that the lack of live operational support will be the ruin of the Netflix organization and the collapse of all e-commerce businesses following the same thought train. What these businesses do not realize is that it is possible and expensive to deactivate your call center needs in an advanced call center.

This solution has a double benefit. It works to establish a strong foundation for managing customer relationships and opens businesses to benefit from oral marketing. I believe that even a small online business can benefit greatly if real effort has been put into by using the call center to manage their customer service or sales calls. The initial investment is usually zero (except for research time to find the right location) and most call centers charge per call (meaning you are only charged for the calls they receive).

If you are looking at a business from a customer perspective instead of looking at a first profit perspective, all e-commerce businesses should first set up a live call center to manage all their calls. If the infrastructure is not set up properly in the beginning, your business may fail before it can start.
