The 'button' trump is referring to the home button which was found in all iphones launched prior to iPhone X.Apple introduced its FACEid take that gave the home button a miss and added a swipe feature. Clearly, Trump doesn't find it helpful and believes that the home button was a much better idea on an Iphones. As of now, no comment has been made by apple or Tim cook on the matter.
Earlier this year trumps called cook a ''great executive'' after having dinner with Apple CEO. Trump said that the cook called him whenever there's a problem.“That’s why he is a great executive,” Trump told the media”, before adding, “Because he calls me and others.
Without taking any names, he further said that others actually hire expensive consultants and not rech out to him. He had told the reporters thats others go out and hire expensive consultants. Tim cook called Donald trump directly.
On his part, Cook has criticized the US president in the past on several issues. For instance, in 2017, Cook said that he spoke to the US president about the Paris climate change agreement but was unable to persuade him.

. According to a tweet posted by Trump, a feature present in the new iPhones isn’t as good as the ones found in the older ones. Trump addressed a tweet directly to Apple CEO Tim Cook and said, “To Tim: The Button on the iPhone was FAR better than the Swipe!”
