Does domestic LPG cylinder also have expiry date?

Yes, LPG cylinder also has expiry date.

Expiry date is mentioned on one of the metal strips connected with ring at the top of the cylinder. It contains one alphabet from 'A' to 'D' and two digit number.

Here 'A' stands for months January to March, 'B' stands for April to June, 'C' stands for July to September, 'D' for October to December. Two digits are last two digit of year. For example A-20 is an expiry date of gas cylinder which means it will be expired by March 2020. If its expiry date is C-23 which means upto September 2023. If its expiry date is D-2022 which means upto December 2022.

Do not ignore this fact because if you got expired gas cyclinder so it can be hazardous to your life. It is a serious thing as we use it in our kitchen which is in house. Big accidents can be ignored by being aware so tell your relatives, friends and everyone. You can save your family as well as others.

According to survey death due to accident out of which approx 21 percent death is caused by gas cylinder explosion. Gas leakage and gas explosion is harmful and can destroy your family even your whole area. If you get expired cylinder so it will be your right and also duty to get cylinder which has atleast 6 months expiry date otherwise you can complain about the matter to the company or government whoever is providing it. 

There was a case where gas leakage turns into big explosion and it costs death. After sometime it was found that the reason of gas leakage was gas cylinder of expiry date.
