Shashtipurthi means it is a Sanskrit word it means, 'Shashti' means 60 years 'Purthi' means completion. So when the husband completed his 60 years, the couple will celebrate the shashtipurthi.

On this shashtipurthi, the relatives gather together and perform Thomas and abhishekas and mangalyadarana for the couple's longevity and health. By performing these homes and abhishekas, the couple boosts their spiritual progress on the verge of completing their paternal duties.

Elders have told that how to perform this Ayukshamana magnum in this way.
First, take a new white cloth, draw 12 lines on the east side, and draw five lines to make 60 rooms. For each row 12 columns, in the same way, 5 rows each row contains 12 volumes total of 60 rooms. Then, on the east side, they pour rice in the kalasam and put it on the east side. From prabhava to Akshaya ( Telugu years), 60 years were invited with the goddesses. The dakshinayana and uttarayana Gods, 6 seasons and 12 months, are invited.
Birds, ideas, weeks, the gods of the week-- sun, moon, angarakudu, mercury(hudud), guru, venus(sukrudu), Saturn (Sani) are invited. The gods for these fire, water, earth, lord Vishnu, Indra, Prajapati are invited. The gods for them Shiva, Durham, Kumaraswamy, Brahma are invited. And ekadasa tundras, nakshatra gods and goddesses, 27 yogas 11 karanamas are invited.
