ASAT missile
Anti-satellite weapons are space weapons designed to incapacitate or destroy satellites for strategic military purposes. During the war, ASAT weapons can be used to intercept and jam communication or military satellites of enemy countries and stop them from communicating with their soldiers. On 27 March 2019, India tested an anti-satellite weapon during an operation code-named "Mission shakti'. The test's target was a satellite present in a low Earth orbit, which was hit with a kinetic kill vehicle.
Trishul missile
Trishul is about 3 m in length and 2 m in diameter. It flies at supersonic speed and is capable of carrying a 15 kg payload. The missile has a triple battlefield role for the army, air force, and navy and can engage targets like aircraft and helicopters by using its radar command to line of sight guidance.
Pralay missile
The Pralay missile has been designed to have a strike range of 500 km with a 1000 kg payload. Pralay's propulsion system uses solid fuels that can function in a wide range of temperatures and allow the missile to have a long shelf-life.
Prahaar missile
The Prahaar is a solid fuel, surface-to-surface guided short-range ballistic missile. It is specially designed for tactical strikes against close targets and provides the Indian army with an all-weather, quick reaction, cost-effective, highly accurate battlefield support.
Shaurya missile
The Shaurya missile is a surface-to-surface tactical missile having a range between 750 to 1900 km. It is classified as a "Cruise missile hybrid" system. It flies like a ballistic missile till it attains the height of 50 km, post that, it behaves like a hypersonic cruise missile. While ballistic missiles can not correct their course midway, the Shaurya is an intelligent missile. Its onboard navigation computer guides the missile to the target and eliminates the errors that come during its turbulent journey.
K-15 (Sagarika) missile
K-15 is part of the family of underwater missiles. This missile helps India to achieve the capability of launching nuclear warheads underwater. K-15 is a solid-fueled, two-stage missile. It is capable of carrying a single 500 kg warhead and has a range of 750 Km.
Dhanush missile
The surface to surface Dhanush missile is a naval version of the Prithvi missile. The single-stage, liquid-propelled Dhanush has a 350 km range and can carry conventional and nuclear weapons of 500 kilograms. It can hit both land and sea-based targets.
Prithvi missiles
Prithvi missile has three variants:
Prithvi -I Army version, having range 150 km with a payload of 1000 kg.
Prithvi-II Air force version, having range 350 km with a payload of 500 kg.
Prithvi-III Navy version, having range 350 km with a payload of 1000 kg.
Prithvi's liquid propellant mixture is highly volatile and corrosive and is loaded just before the missile launch.
Akash missile
The asset of this supersonic, short-range, surface-to-air missile system is its capability to neutralize multiple aerial targets (like fighter jets, drones, cruise missiles, ballistic missiles, etc.) coming from different directions at the same time. Akash uses a ramjet propulsion system that can intercept the target at supersonic speed without deceleration.
The missile man of India
Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam was an aerospace scientist who joined India's defense department after graduating from the Madras institution. He was the central figure in developing the country's nuclear capabilities and was hailed ana a national hero after a series of successful nuclear tests in 1998. Dr. Kalam served as India's president for one term from 2002-2007
Dr. Kalam was born on 15 Oct. 1931 in Rameswaram, India. The family source of income
was a Boat. To contribute to their finances, Kalam started selling newspapers at a very young age
Kalam had missed an opportunity to become a fighter pilot for the Indian air force. He
was on 0f spot on the list, and there was only || post was on 9 spots on the list, and there were only posts Dr. Kalam held the distinction of holding doctorates from over 40 universities across the world.
On his birthday, the United Nations in 2015 had declared to observe it
as world student's day. Dr. Kalam wrote a great deal of poetry in Tamil and was very fond of playing "Veena' NASA discovered a new radiation resistance bacterium in 2017 and named it
"Solibacilus Kalami" to honor the late Dr. Kalam
Dr. Kalam, the youth icon, wanted every student of the country to be educated and then help the Nation grow. He regularly interacted with students, and his death too comes while he was at the Indian institution of management. He passed away due to unfortunate cardiac arrest minutes after delivering a lecture at the Indian institution of management Shillong on 27 May 2015.
