DIY mouthwash recipes: Check out how you can make mouthwash at home


 

Good oral health starts at home. That means you can maintain a perfectly good oral health by cleaning your mouth properly twice a day! A good oral hygiene not only gives you brilliant smile and healthy teeth but also keeps a number of dental problems such as bad breath, cavities, and plaque at bay. Most of us brush our teeth twice a day and that’s the extent of our oral hygiene routine. But only brushing isn’t enough. For a complete oral care, you have to follow up with flossing and mouthwash. Mouthwash does not only freshen your breath but also prevents your teeth from cavities. There are different types of mouthwash available in the market, some of which might be loaded with alcohol and harmful chemicals. Here are a few easily available ingredients you can use that will function as safe and efficient mouthwash!

Coconut oil

An oil of many wonders, coconut oil is also a great mouthwash! All you need is a spoonful of virgin coconut oil. After you have brushed your teeth, swish some coconut oil for thirty seconds. Spit and rinse your mouth with water. This process of mouth washing is called oil pulling, which is capable of protecting your mouth from plaque formation.

Salt water can be made in a matter of seconds by mixing half a tablespoon of salt in half a glass of warm water. This solution is as effective as any other commercially available mouthwash. Rinsing your mouth regularly with salt water will minimize inflammation of the gums and fight plaque formation. It can also heal minor dental pains and mouth ulcers.

Aloe vera juice

Aloe vera juice is a multipurpose ingredient whose use is not limited to just skin and hair care. Rinsing your mouth with a solution of half a cup of aloe vera juice and half a cup of distilled water will help you fight dental plaque and gingival bleeding. This solution is safe for everyday use.

 

 

If foul breath is your problem, this oil mixture is the solution! Add ten drops of cinnamon oil and clove oil in a cup of distilled water. Store the mixture in an airtight container for longevity. This mouthwash is also great for fighting cavities.
