Many people have tried so many diets in the past and failed that they tried the next new diet with absolute knowledge that they will also fail in this endeavor. Dieting is often done from the mindset of impending failure. Guess what? They will.
Henry Ford said, "If you think you can or can't, you'll always be right." If you think you are going to fail in this diet, you are leading yourself to failure even before you deprive yourself of the first bite. Think about it before you start because only a true masochist can find joy in perpetuating this vicious cycle without wondering why no other diet has worked for you. Henry Ford added, "Failure is the only chance to start again with more intelligence." If you think, I will say his words are quite deep. Seriously though, if you don't examine the causes of your failure you are definitely destroying yourself to repeat them and if you are already planning to fail then why on earth would you try?
The only thing you can do is control your eating needs. You are the only one who can pay attention and notice when you are eating for emotional fullness and when you are eating from need. You and you alone can get yourself out of your chair and into your legs. You are the only one who can take responsibility for the situation you find yourself in. There are treatment exceptions but even in this situation if you try to diet after diet and repeatedly fail, you must understand at some point that it is probably not a diet that is not working.
We all have to be responsible for our failures and successes in life. This is no different when it comes to dieting. There is nothing better in the world than to notice and appreciate your efforts. If you are unfortunately very obese, it may take a little longer for people to realize that you have lost weight. Many men and women simply give up because no one noticed, and it is an incredible shame. Give your dieting practice a chance to work out before you decide to fail, and you may surprise yourself with a roaring success.
The fact is that very few people hold themselves accountable for their dieting and weight loss goals. This means that more and more people are giving up trying to never really bother. If you have trouble keeping yourself accountable for your diet plan, you are probably better off dieting with a partner. It not only helps you set goals, but also helps you to overcome challenges along the way. A partner may also benefit from the partnership because he or she will be challenged and will feel the need to perform better if he or she is dieting alone.
You must adhere to your stated diet and weight loss goals to achieve any lasting results. If you haven't had dieting success in the past, it's probably time to bring some responsibility to the film and make it happen.
