Dieting for success
Dieting is often fueled by a mindset of imminent failure. Many people have tried and failed so many diets in their past that they try the next new diet with the full knowledge that they will fail in that attempt as well. Guess what? They will.
Henry Ford said, "If you think you can or, you can't, you will always be right." If you think you are going to fail with this diet, then you are setting yourself up for failure before depriving yourself of even the first bite. Think about it before you start because only a true masochist can find joy in continuing this vicious cycle without thinking about why another diet hasn't worked for you. Henry Ford also said, "Failure is only an opportunity to start again more intelligently". In case you were wondering, I would say that his words are very deep. Seriously, if you don't investigate the reasons for your failures, you are definitely dooming yourself to repeat them and if you are already planning to fail then why on earth should you even try? Do?
You are the only person who can control your need to eat. When you are eating for emotional satiation and when you are eating out of necessity, you are the only one who can pay attention and notice. You and you alone can get yourself out of your chair and on your feet. You are the only one who can take responsibility for the situation in which you find yourself. There are medical exceptions, but even in these situations if you are trying diet after diet, and failing again, and again, you should realize at some point that it is probably not the diet that is not working.
We are all responsible for our successes and failures in life. It is no different when it comes to dieting. There are few better feelings in the world than having someone notice and admire your efforts. If you're unfortunately very obese, it may take a little longer for people to really notice the weight you've lost. Too many men and women give up simply because no one noticed, and that's an incredible shame. Give your dieting practices a chance to work before you decide they're a failure, and you just might surprise yourself with a roaring success.
The truth is that very few people hold themselves accountable for their diet and weight loss goals. This means that many people are giving up without even bothering to actually try it. If you have a problem holding yourself accountable to your dieting plans, maybe you'd do well to diet with your partner. It not only helps you to set goals, but also helps you to face and overcome the challenges that come along the way. A partner can also benefit from the partnership, as he or she will be challenged and feel the need to perform better than they would if they were dieting alone.
You must hold yourself accountable to your stated diet and weight loss goals to achieve any lasting results. If you haven't had success with dieting in the past, maybe it's time to bring some degree of accountability into the picture and get it done.
